Abstract:The present paper is a tentative study of English Listening Skills, exploring the application of stress and intonation, based on their importance in the TEM-4.

　　　The paper starts with an analysis of the importance of listening and testing listening skills. Listening is very important in daily communication. And testing listening skills is an essential part of language testing. It then proceeds to explain that the application of stress and intonation is a key factor in testing listening skills, especially in the TEM-4. At the same time, it explores some skills of application of stress and intonation in the TEM-4 from the perspectives of discriminating sounds, implying meaning, and identifying the speaker’s attitude or purpose. I hope it can arouse examinees’ attention to the listening skills and help them to get a good score by analyzing and judging the information accurately.

摘要:本文从英语听力技巧的角度进行尝试性研究，探讨了语音语调在英语专业四级考试中的应用，旨在揭示其重要性。

　　　本文首先分析了听力和测试听力技巧的相关内容。说明听力在日常交际中很重要;听力测试技巧是语言测试中的一个重要部分。接下来本文继续阐述英语语音语调是测试听力技巧中的关键因素，在英语专业四级考试中得到了体现。同时本文从如何区别语音，理解暗含语意，判断说话者的态度、目的等方面也探讨了语音语调的一些使用技巧。希望本文能引起英语考试者的注意，从而能学会准确判断所听信息, 获得一个好分数。
