Abstract: The paper gives a brief introduction of translation and does a research on the cultural differences in geographical, historical and social, religious and dietary aspects. Translation plays a very important part in modern society. It concerns economy, technology, politics and culture. It works as the communication bridge between people of different cultures. Therefore it is essential for translators to master translation skills and  have a keen awareness of the cultural differences in their translation. Therefore, based on the research, this paper proposes several translation strategies in dealing with cultural differences with specific examples which concerns with the translation of idioms, proverbs or some literature paragraphs.

摘要：本论文首先对翻译进行简单介绍，然后分析英汉两种语言在地域，社会历史，宗教，饮食等文化方向存在的差异。翻译在如今有举足轻重的地位，它涉及到经济，政治，文化，是各国人民进行沟通的桥梁，是文化传递不可或缺的手段。因此，译者掌握翻译技巧和文化差异显得尤为重要。本文通过分析具体实例比如成语，谚语，文学段落的翻译，最后归纳出几种常用的翻译策略并通过译文的对比做出适当的评价。
