1. Introduction.
Chinese chivalry is one of the most important parts of Chinese culture. It has great impact on the formation of Chinese tradition and even Chinese national spirit. Ancient chivalrous people in China were eccentric and independent in both mind and behavior. Their unique figure is now still very clear in the history of China. The existence of the earliest chivalrous people could be traced back to the pre-Qin-Dynasty age. Chivalrous people were deeply conscious of fairness and righteousness then after. After Tang Dynasty, chivalrous people were seen as an independent group. Their stories were known by common people thereafter. In modern times, there would be still injustice in our society so that Chinese chivalry is also existent in other forms.
