摘要
肢体语言（Body language）是人类语言的一部分，同时也是非语言交际的重要组成部分，其与地方文化紧密相连。作为英语系的学生，学习语言的语法和词汇固然是相当重要的，但是学习与英语国家相关的文化如肢体语言也不可忽视。肢体语言是指能够传递某种特定信息的面部表情、手势语及其他身体部位动作。它的重要性主要体现在它的信息传递性上。然而由于地域，种族和文化习俗的异同，不同肢体语言可能有相同的意思，同一种肢体语言有着不同的异同。本文是主要研讨中西方不同文化异同所隐含的肢体语言含义的异同，通过此文，我们能更深入地了解西方文化，从而更好地促进我们的语言学习。

Abstract
Body language is not only a part of human language, but also an important part of non-verbal communication, which is closely related to the local culture. As an English major student, studying grammars and vocabularies are obviously important, but learning the culture associated with English-speaking countries such as body language can also not be ignored. Body language is something like facial expressions, sign languages and other part of body movements which can transfer specific information. The importance of body language is reflected in its information delivery. However, as to the differences of geographic, racial and cultures, different body languages may have the same mean as well as same body language may has different meanings. This essay is about the different body languages implied in China and English-speaking counties. Getting across this paper, we can understand English-speaker’s culture deeply, so as to promote our language learning.

1. Introduction
1.1 The definition of body language
When it comes to success, talent, character, ability and other factors are always regarded as the necessary conditions invariably. However, one of the most important elements----body language is ignored. To human beings, body language is the expresser of the souls. A share of mood swing will be represented by body language through soundless melody. Every similar eye expression, gesture and movement deduces the interpretation of people’s inner world.
