摘 要
本文旨在通过对比探讨英汉基本颜色词的文化语义，英语论文，英语毕业论文，加深对颜色词的理解，提升语言应用能力。探讨发现，部分英汉基本颜色词的文化语义存在有同有异的现象造成这种异同的是中西方文化背景的异同，需从文化语义角度来深层理解。通过文献法了解语义学发展历史及其分类。通过对比探讨，有些英汉基本颜色词在文化语义方面存在不同,完全相反或空缺等现象。探讨认为，文化语境的不同会造成词汇语义的变化，了解这些异同有助于提升语言应用能力和跨文化交际能力

Abstract
This thesis attempts to mainly adopt comparative method to realize the cultural semantic of basic color terms, in order to deepen people’s understanding of color terms as well as advance the communicative abilities. The study finds that part of color terms have similarities and diversities in intercultural communication, which mainly comes from the different cultural background, and need to be deeply comprehended from the perspective of cultural semantic. Through documental method, the historical development and classification of semantics can be revealed to people. Through comparative research, some basic color terms have different, totally opposite or vacant meaning in the perspective of cultural semantic. Consequently, the difference of cultural context will result in the change of the words meaning, and realizing the gaps contribute to advancing language abilities for use and intercultural communicative abilities.

1 Introduction
This paper is to compare the basic color terms between English and Chinese from the perspective of cultural semantic. With globalization and International communication becoming more and more common in our daily life, the intercultural cooperation increases progressively in our country. So English has evolved in our life much more than before, meanwhile, the collision between different cultures affects the international cooperation. The collision on one hand is the interplay between the foreign culture and local culture, on the other hand, it also reflects in personal psychology and behavior. So long as globalization is proceeding, cultural gaps existing, which is embodied in the perspective of observing problem, cultural value and criteria as well as the manner of interpersonal communication. For the moment, basic communication is not a big problem at all, but the culture and historical background between people of different countries.
For the time being, opening up is the core aim of China. Lacking in the concept of cultural meaning should be a big obstacle in intercultural communication. We do not have the right to intervene other countries’ action, but we Chinese people can start from ourselves and absorb westerner’s cultural meaning positively in order to live barrier-free world. Only in this way, can we get an advantageous position in intercultural communication, can we apply culture and language into practice and can we reach the aim that promoting the cultural communication. Consequently, being aware of the cultural meaning under the cultural background contributes to globalization and living a family on the earth.
