摘要

    在现代社会,人们都在为工作和生活而忙碌。在快速的生活节奏中,他们承受着巨大的压力。他们渴望幽默与笑声给他们带来身心的松弛。作为一种言语艺术, 幽默的产生离不开语言本身的内在规律,同时也在很大程度上依赖于语言在语境中的使用情况。近年来,脱口秀节目在中国越来越受欢迎。在日常生活中它已成为一个引人注目的文化现象,值得我们从语用学角度对其幽默言语进行略论。本文采用美国脱口秀中的幽默言语作为语料,用格赖斯的合作准则和会话含意理论略论其幽默言语是如何产生的,从而加深我们对幽默言语的理解。某些情况下,违反合作准则的四条原则导致了幽默言语的产生,从而使脱口秀节目更具幽默感。对幽默语言的语用学探讨能帮助我们更好的理解语言,并提高我们应用语言的能力。

Abstract

In modern society, people are on the run for their work and life. Especially with the quick tempo of life, they are under great pressure. They long for laughter to release tension in their body and mind. As a kind of utterance art, humor is based not only on the linguistic internal rules but also on the use of speech in a special context which is the object of pragmatic study. In recent years, talk show programs are becoming increasingly popular in China. It has become such a striking cultural phenomenon penetrating people’s daily life and deserves an analysis from pragmatic perspectives. This paper will use examples from the American talk shows, and use Grice's cooperative principle and conversational implicature theory to analyze the humorous speech. In this way, it can deepen our understanding of the humorous utterances. In some cases, violations of the four maxims of the cooperative principle lead to the production of humorous speech. It can give the talk show more sense of humor. The use of humorous utterances can make the talk show more lively and interesting, and bring people fun. A pragmatic study of humorous utterances will enable us to better understand the language and improve our ability to use the language as well.

1. Introduction
1.1 Background Information
Humor is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement. The term derives from the humoral medicine of the ancient Greeks. Humor is known as the balance of fluids in the human body, control human health and emotion.
People of all ages and cultures respond to humor. The majority of people are able to experience humor, for example, to be amused, to laugh or smile at something funny, and thus they are considered to have a sense of humor. The person who is short of a sense of humor would likely find his behavior to be unexplainable or even irrational. People will find humorous things depend on geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, intelligence and context. Humor is an important part of all cultures and languages. It is a pervasive phenomenon that exists in all kinds of human communication. As a successful speech form, humor has unique charm and in actual communication has a special pragmatic effect.
