Abstract
On the basis of the previous studies and current related theories of sociolinguistics, with the help of the survey and the analysis of English speech videos from Internet, this paper analyzes the effect of gender differences on English speech from two aspects, the manuscript of English speech and the performance on the spot. More specifically, the paper involves the differences in content arrangement, the use of words, rhetoric，the features of argumentation in the manuscript of English speech, and the differences in gestures and facial expressions of the contestants. The result of the study will be beneficial for the male and the female contestants to know better about their own and the opponents’ advantages and disadvantages as well as audiences’ feelings so that they can improve their skills and the effect in English speech contest.

本文在前人的相关探讨基础之上,根据社会语言学的相关理论,以调查问卷和网络资源略论的措施，英语毕业论文，从英语演讲稿和演讲现场两个主要方面,略论了性别异同对英语演讲效果的作用。其中主要对演讲稿的结构安排、词汇应用、修辞手法、论证措施以及演讲现场中的手势、面部表情等几个方面存在的异同进行具体阐述，从而总结出性别异同对英语演讲比赛所产生的不同效果。本探讨结果有助于参赛的男女选手更好地认识各自的优缺点，英语论文，去粗取精，互相借鉴，更加了解观众的感受，以便在英语演讲比赛中提高自己的英语演讲技能与效果。

However the literature on gender differences in English speech is limited.
