Abstract
Politeness is a universal principle, for it can be observed in all cultures and societies. This paper first introduces the previous study of the politeness principle, and then lists several typical examples in our daily life to show the embodiments of politeness principle. It attempts to analyze the differences of the difference between Chinese and western politeness principles. The study aims to find out the differences from the aspects of Self Denigration, appellation and greeting, and explore the factors which bring about the differences from the aspects of thinking patterns and cultural values. I hope this paper will do some help to cross-cultural communication.

礼貌是各文化、各社会所共有的普遍现象。本文首先介绍了前人定义的礼貌准则，英语论文，英语论文范文，然后列举若干日常生活中的典型例证，展现在日常生活中中西方礼貌准则的体现，试图略论中西方礼貌准则的异同。本文更注重从贬己尊人、称谓语、招呼用语方面研讨中西方礼貌用语的异同。然后，从思维模式和文化价值观这两个角度研讨出现如此异同的原因，以期对现代跨文化交流提供帮助。

With the advance of globalization，the cross-cultural exchange is becoming more and more frequent. There are many potential obstacles in the cross-cultural communication. Following the politeness principle is an important means to promote the cross-cultural exchange. However, the politeness principle is restricted by a lot of factors and is always described as flexible and various. This paper endeavors to analyze differences and their reasons by listing the embodiments of the politeness principle in the cross-cultural communication. |
