1.1 Background of the Research
With the development of economy and technology, English becomes more andmore important in our daily life and international communication. In order toeffectively fulfill English teaching objectives and fully develop students’ overallability, the effective classroom teaching behaviors of English teachers in juniormiddle school play a vital function in the process of English teaching reform.In 2017, the State Council had decided to promote curriculum reform ofelementary Education, which brings a great change for English teachers’ traditionalteaching ideas and provides a reflection for English teachers’ teaching behaviors.L.Stenhouse, a famous British curriculum research expert, assumed that thecurriculum reform is a reform of promoting the development of students under theguidance of teachers.Under the circumstance of new curriculum reform, the research of effectiveclassroom teaching behaviors of English teachers in junior middle school has becomea hot discussion, because English classroom teaching is a process of language inputand output. Besides, English teachers are not only the subject of English classroomteaching, but also the organizer, instructor and participator of English classroomteaching. And English teachers help students acquire basic English languageknowledge and master the essential skills of listening, speaking, reading and writingthrough effective classroom teaching behaviors, which reflect English teachers’teaching ideas and have a leavening influence on students’ learning behaviors.Therefore, the research on effective classroom teaching behaviors of English teachersis very necessary and urgent.

1.2 The Purpose and Significance of the Research
The classroom teaching of English teachers is a process of interaction betweenteachers and students. And one of the most important ways for students to acquireEnglish language knowledge is through English teachers’ effective classroom teachingbehaviors.The paper is going to analyze the classroom teaching behaviors of Englishteachers in three junior middle schools in Baohe District through classroomobservations and questionnaires for teachers and students, to analyze the datacollected from the classroom observations and questionnaires in a qualitative andquantitative method, to find the potential problems for every classroom teachingbehavior of English teachers, to provide the reflections and improvements for theshortcomings of classroom teaching behaviors of English teachers in junior middleschool and to propose the concrete and targeted strategies to improve the classroomteaching behaviors of English teachers and accordingly to enhance the quality ofEnglish classroom teaching in junior middle school.
