Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Research Background
关于语言教学,包括英语教学,词汇是非常重要的,任何教师不能忽视它。麦卡锡(1990)曾经说:“不管如何,无论多么成功,L2的声音都掌握学生易学sgrammar,没有的话表达L2一个宽范围的意义,通信只是可以不发生任何有意义的方式。”在中国,英语是从小学至大学的一个重要课题,中国学生花了很多时间在英语学习,但仍然缺乏基本的能力,口语和书写流利,正确,部分原因是,他们还没有掌握一个字或生产知识,他们不能使用的话,富有成效。事业的重要性,词汇教学和英语教学在中国当前的情况,英语毕业论文,笔者选择了词汇教学在大学探讨的问题。为了提高词汇教学,深入学习单词,笔者发现框架语义学,认知语言学的一个分支,主要涉及的词汇和词汇数据库框架网络项目是非常有用的,所以笔者试图应用框架语义学及其探讨成果如果结果是词汇教学看,如果这是合理的,因此,在这个实验中,笔者试图建立一个新的词汇教学在大学教学过程,并试图证明,这个过程比传统的措施更有效。积极的,那么这项探讨将提供一个更好的方式为词汇教学,从而帮助学生自动使用有源的话,保持长期保留的话,提高阅读能力。如果结果均为阴性,我们可以少走弯路,并给予建议,以词汇在大学任教。For language teaching including English teaching,vocabulary is so important that anyteacher can not afford to ignore it. McCarthy (1990) ever said "No matter how well the studentleams grammar, no matter how successfully the sounds of L2 are mastered, without words toexpress a wide range of meanings, communication in an L2 just cannot happen in anymeaningful ways.” And also in China, English is an important subject from primary school tocollege; Chinese students have spent much time on English study but still lack the basic abilityof speaking and writing fluently and properly. Parts of the reasons are that they haven'tmastered the productive knowledge of a word or they can't use the words productively. Sobecause of the importance of vocabulary teaching and the present situation of English teachingin china, the author chose vocabulary teaching in college as research question.In order to improve vocabulary teaching, the author found that Frame Semantics, abranch of cognitive linguistics, was mainly related with vocabulary and the lexical database ofthe FrameNet project was quite useful for learning words in depth. So the author tried to applyFrame Semantics and its research results to vocabulary teaching to see if this would beplausible. So in this experiment, the author tried to set up a new teaching procedure forvocabulary instruction in college and tried to prove that this procedure was more effective thanthe traditional method. If the results were positive,then this study would offer a better way forvocabulary teaching and thus help the students to use active words automatically, keep a longretention of words and improve reading ability. If the results were negative, we can avoiddetours and give suggestions to vocabulary teaching in college.
1.2 Significance of the Research

This research aims to deal with this important part of languagelearning with the help of linguistic theory through quantitative and qualitative analysis.After reviewing the researches on foreign language vocabulary teaching both in the westand in China,we can conclude that vocabulary teaching methods will increase greatly with thedevelopment of linguistics and other fields of sciences. However, the effectiveness of the newmethods should be proved through researchers' empirical study of them one by one. This iswhy empirical study was used in this thesis.
