摘要
数字广泛存在于人类生活的方方面面,起初,数字仅仅是用来表示数量和顺序,其本身并不具有褒贬之意。随着社会的发展,数字已经不仅仅是一个计算工具,同时它也是一种沟通手段。当人类文明发展到一定程度,英语毕业论文,由于不同民族宗教、历史、社会风俗等因素,一些有象征意义的数字构成了一种新的文化——数字文化。每个民族都有自己的数字文化,关于同一个数字,英语毕业论文,不同的国家可能对其赋予了独特的含义。随着全球化进程的加速,东西方之间的各方面交流也越来越多。汉语是世界上使用人口最多的语言,而英语则是世界上使用范围最广的语言,关于汉语和英语中的数字文化的异同比较是极其重要的。
众所周知,数字习语来源于各自民族的历史事件,经济现象,传说故事,宗教和传统等等方面。数字习语的含义远远超过习语中各个字词意思的简单组合,比单个数字的意思丰富得多。要正确理解及恰当的翻译数字习语,必须广泛了解两种文化。译员须分清特定语境中数字习语的字面意思、比喻意思、内涵意义,才能着手翻译。本文首先介绍了选题的目的及意义,接着对前人文献进行略论,然后对中英数字含义进行对比并略论造成异同的原因,最后提出数字习语的翻译策略。中英数字本文意图通过关于文化内涵的深入和具体地略论,提供人们一个学习探讨作用这些异同重要因素的平台,讨论中英数字习语翻译的措施。

Abstract
Numbers can be found in all walks of life. Originally, numbers were only used to reflect quantity or order of things; they didn’t have good or bad connotations. With the development of society, numbers are no longer only a counting tool, but also a communication method. When human civilizations develop to a certain degree, some symbolic numbers formed a new kind of culture – numerical culture because of different religious, historical, social custom. Each nationality has its own numerical culture, and different nationalities may view the same number in different lights. With the expanding globalization, the East and the West have witnessed more and more communications in all aspects of life. Chinese is the world's most popular language, while English is the language spoken most widely in the world. It is important to compare the difference between Chinese and English numerical culture.
As is known, numerical idioms are formed on the basis of a nation’s history, economy, culture, tradition and custom. Their meanings are beyond the simple sum of each word in the idioms, and much more profound than that of a single number. To correctly comprehend and properly translate numerical idioms calls for a wide range of background knowledge concerning the culture in both source language and target language. The translator should distinguish the literal, figurative and connotative meanings of the numerical idioms in the given context before they get down to translate them. The paper first give a brief introduction of the purpose of selecting the topic; then analysis the literature review. After that, it make a comparison of Chinese and English numerical culture and the factors contribute to the difference. At last, it provide some translation approaches of numerical idioms. Through a comparison of the cultural connotations of Chinese and English numerical idioms, this thesis aims to provide a platform for people to learn about the contributing factors of all these differences and the strategy of Chinese and English numerical idioms translation.
