Abstract
This thesis titled “A Study of Xu Yuanchong’s Subjectivity in Tang Poems Translated into English” following the guidance of the relationship between translator’s subjectivity and the Chinese classics translated into English, probing into relevant references concerning the subjectivity of a translator, and the works written and translated by Xu Yuanchong, discusses what consists of translator’s subjectivity. Moreover, this thesis concludes and evaluates the embodiment, significance and limitations of Xu Yuanchong’s subjectivity through empirical comparison, with analyses and data. This thesis preliminarily explores new access to Chinese classics including Tang poems becoming world classics.
After the research, this thesis draws three conclusions. First, translator's subjectivity consists of his personal interest, his aesthetic pursuit, his translation strategies, his translation motivation, his cultural awareness and his creative spirit. Secondly, Xu’s Subjectivity in Tang Poems Translated into English consists of his life-long interest in poetry translation, pursuit for Three Beauties, skillful use of Three Hua's, Improvement in conciseness and neatness for Three Zhi's, rivalry for promoting the world culture, creative spirit in harmonizing Chinese culture to built theory; The limitations of Xu’s subjectivity in Tang poems translated into English including limitations in some translation views and his own evaluation as the final evaluation for the success of translation. Thirdly this thesis provides a tridimensional access to further better using translator’s subjectivity, so as to find the right way to evaluate the success of classic translation. All these three conclusion is drawn after the study on Xu’s Subjectivity on Tang poems and would boost Chinese classics including Tang Poem translation into world classics.

摘 要
本文以“许渊冲唐诗英译的主体性探讨”为题,以译者主体性和汉语典籍英译的联系总探讨为指导,通过探讨跟唐诗英译、译者主体性相关的主要参考文献、许渊冲先生本人作品、翻译和跟许渊冲先生相关的他人作品,讨论了汉语典籍英译的译者主体性构成;通过结合大量实证比较总结和评析了许先生唐诗英译的主体性体现、意义和局限;初步探究了在唐诗英译进一步正确发挥译者主体性以促进唐诗作为汉语典籍能在世界上作为世界通典有效传播的途径。
通过探讨,本文得出三点结论:一、汉语典籍英译的译者主体性包括译者的个人兴趣、美学追求、翻译策略、翻译动机、文化意识、独创精神等。徐渊冲的唐诗英译主体性体现可概括为许渊冲一生爱译诗、追求三美、巧用三化、精简三之、竞赛促世界文化优势互补、融百家之长来独创理论,局限在于其部分翻译观不够完善、其译作成功度他自我一人说了算的评判机制不得当。三、唐诗英译成世界通典需要发挥译者主体性开拓唐诗英译后的全方位立体化的有效传播途径,英语论文题目,以避免走译作对大多数外国读者的一厢情愿式的纸上平面传播,从而由全世界众多读者评判、遴选、沉积出由汉典英译而来的世界通典来。以上三点结论是在对许渊冲唐诗英译的主体性进行探讨后所得出,英语毕业论文,对唐诗国际化、汉语典籍世界通典化具有借鉴意义。
