摘 要
姓名涵盖了历史、语言、心理、宗教、文化、道德和伦理等信息,不仅是一种区别个人与他人的语用标志,也是一个社会符号,反映了不同的文化内涵。本文旨在从英汉姓名的起源和历史文化背景入手,通过对比略论以及举例子的措施,对英汉姓名不同的价值观及其名字代表的不同的信仰,中英两国人不同的命名法进行了探讨。由于每个国家都有不同的历史和文化背景,形成了自己独特实名制。名称不唯一的符号,但也有一些特殊的功能。他们是社会的符号和代表一定的社会联系和文化的特点,通过它我们可以看到不同的文化,不同的社会。英语中国的传统文化在不同部位导致中国英语的文化,英语论文范文,不同的系统有不同的价值观和审美标准。探讨表明英汉姓名不同的文化结构,揭示了英汉姓名的文化内涵。略论英汉姓名的两种翻译措施:音译法和形译法, 遵循英汉姓名翻译中的“名从主人准则”和“约定俗成准则”对了解和学习英汉姓名的翻译十分重要。同时,英语论文范文,了解英汉姓名的文化内涵及其翻译也有助于中西方文化和历史的探讨与交流。因此本文将简要的略论和探讨英汉姓名的内涵及其翻译。

Abstract
A person’s name is a kind of information which contained history, language, psychology, religion, custom, morality and ethics. It not only distinguishes one person from others, but also is a social symbol and reflects different cultural connotation. This paper starts with the origin and historical culture to show the status of English-Chinese names. Due to the different historical and cultural backgrounds, each country has formed its own unique name system. The names are not only symbols, but also have some special functions. They are social symbols and represent certain social relations and the cultural characteristics through which we can see different cultures of different societies. English-Chinese in different parts of the traditional culture result in English-Chinese cultures of different systems and have different values and aesthetic standards. Having a good knowledge of two translation methods of English-Chinese names: transliteration and free translation, and following two principles of “Name from Master Principle” and “Conventional Principle” is very important for us to know how to translate English-Chinese names. At the same time, understanding the cultural connotation and its name in English-Chinese translation can also help develop Chinese and western culture and historical researches. Therefore, this paper analyzed and studied on the problem of Cultural Connation and Translation of English-Chinese Names briefly.

1 Introduction
People all around the world have their own names. It is deeply rooted in people’s social life. That’s why Professor Zhong Jingwen, a famous Chinese folklorist, writer, poet, said that the science of name is an emerging humanity, which is indispensable cultural knowledge to each nation. So, studying the cultural connotation of name and translation has vital significance. A person’s name is not only written in a few simple symbols but also epitomizes the characteristics of national culture. A person’s name is a kind of information which contained history, language, psychology, religion, custom, morality and ethics. A person’ name has some particular functions that the other signs can not perform. A person’ name is a window for people to see through different cultures in different societies. This paper analyzes the similarities and differences of the Sino-British name and finds out that there are still many common characteristics by example and contrast. Then study to explore the constitutional principles and formative methods of name following the direction of translation which is of great significance for the study of British culture, religion and history.
