摘要
本文讨论了双关语在影视字幕中的翻译，英语论文范文，结合Delabastita的九条双关语翻译策略，定量略论情景喜剧《老友记》中的16个双关语翻译实例，并归纳成六条双关语翻译策略。略论表明，译者通常采取双关语翻译成双关语；在翻译较困难时采取只翻译其中一种意思，英语论文网站，或用补充说明，或者翻译成类双关；不能翻译时采取照抄原文或是直接跳过双关语。

Abstract
The paper, based on nine pun translation principles of Delabastita, analyses sixteen pun cases in Friends, and summarizes the nine principles to six points. Results of analysis show that when the source pun is easy to translate, the translators tend to translate the pun in the source text with a pun in the target text, when the source pun is difficult to translate, the translators adopt translating one meaning or quasi-pun or using editorial techniques, when the source pun is untranslatable, the translators tend to copying the source text directly or skipping the pun.

I. Introduction
Nowadays, development of globalization is becoming fast. As a result, the resources of science and culture, as well as multimedia resource are more frequently accepted by more and more people. In China, a great many of people are appealed to foreign movies and TV series, especially American movies and TV series. People like them because American movies and TV series are more interesting than native films and television programs. The other reason is they want to improve their English level through watching American programs.
The important part of the American TV programs is sitcom. Many sitcoms are very popular to audience, for example, The Big Bang Theory, Growing Pains, Friends and so on. In these works, the writers of subtitles usually adopt many ways to gain humors sense in the sitcoms, and pun is one of the most important methods. But the translation of pun is not an easy thing because many English pun words have no equivalents in Chinese. So some scholars (Qian, 2017; Steiner, 1975) believe that pun is untranslatable. However many other scholars (Xu, 1988; Zhang, 2017) hold the idea that under some specific contexts, pun is translatable. In the meantime, subtitles translation is one of audio-visual translations, and it should correspond with the principles of audio-visual translations. So translating the pun in the subtitles is not an easy thing for translators.
