Abstract: Tourist text is a direct way of introducing Chinese culture and tourism resources. Its translation should be able to achieve the adaptive transformation in linguistic, cultural and aesthetic dimensions. Belonging to different linguistic families, English and Chinese are quite different in many aspects. English emphasizes hypotaxis, while Chinese attaches much importance to parataxis. English prefers to use the passive voice, whereas Chinese employs the active voice frequently. Therefore translators should make some linguistic conversions. When dealing with the contents containing cultural connotations, translators should be fully aware of the cultural gaps and employ proper translation strategies to achieve the cultural adaptation. Tourist texts are rather pragmatic, therefore the translation should be able to achieve the communicative adaptation in the target eco-environment. To fulfill this function, translators must consider the different aesthetic values of the source and target cultures, thus make the translation conform to the target readers’ aesthetic preferences so as to achieve the communicative adaptation.

摘 要:旅游文本是介绍中国文化和旅游资源的最直接的一种方式。在文本翻译过程中,要实现语言、文化和审美功能的适应性转换。由于中文和英文属于不同的语系,因此在很多方面有很大的不同。英语强调形合而中文更注重意合。英语偏向用被动语态,而中文经常用主动语态。因此译者要做好语言方面的转换。在翻译中涉及到文化内涵时,译者必须意识到文化异同并且应用合适的翻译策略,以实现文化维的转换。旅游文本是一种实用型文本,因此其译文应在目标语环境中实现交际维的适应性转换。为实现这个功能,译者需要考虑到原语文化和目标语文化的不同审美价值,使译文符合目标语读者的审美倾向,英语论文网站,英语论文,以便实现交际维的适应性转换。

Tourist text is a direct way to introduce China to foreigners. Therefore, its translation becomes more and more significant. Eco-translatology provides a brand new theoretical direction for translators to deal with the tourist texts. The adaptive transformation from the three dimensions, advocated by Eco-translatology, could help improve the quality of tourist text translation.
A lot of professionals have made researches on tourist texts and their translation. William made his contribution to the research of this field by publishing the article The discourse and governance of diversity in England’s official tourism texts (William, 2017: 121-146). In China, Yuan Shiliang studied the application of cooperative principle in tourist text translation (Yuan, 2017:164-166). Ma Jing and Ren Suzhen explored the tourist text translation from the perspective of skopos theory (Ma and Ren, 2017:34-37). There are also many books about tourist text translation. |
