摘要
《远大前程》是英国著名作家查尔斯•狄更斯所著的长篇小说。小说主要围绕主人公孤儿皮普的成长经历进行描写。
本文认为，英语论文，在《远大前程》中，主人公皮普经历了三个不同的人生阶段。童年时期的皮普生活满足、善良淳朴；在伦敦时期追求“远大前程”时期的皮普变得自我堕落、迷失自我；梦想破灭以后成熟的皮普则进行自我反省、回归纯真。
本文通过略论皮普在这三个不同的人生阶段中，性格、追求等变化，略论皮普的人物形象。皮普善良淳朴—自我沉沦—本性回归的历程，突出了《远大前程》本性回归的主题。无论社会条件、个人境遇如何变化，善良、友爱等优良品质永远不可缺少。

Abstract
Great Expectations is a novel written by Charles Dickens, a famous English writer. The novel was based on the description of the hero Pip’s life experience.
The paper thinks that, in Great Expectations, the hero Pip has gone through three different stages of life – the childhood of Pip: content and innocent; the period of gentleman life in London: degenerated and disoriented; the period after disillusionment of great expectations: self-reflective and innocent.
This paper analyzes Pip’s character by exploring changes of Pip’s character and pursuit through three different stages in life. The hero’s character development, from innocence to degeneration and return to the innocent nature, highlights the theme of the return to innocent nature of Great Expectations. No matter how social conditions and personal circumstances change, kindness, friendship and other excellent quality are always indispensable.
