Abstract
Systemic Functional Grammar has three basic functions: ideational metafunction, interpersonal metafunction and textual metafunction. Three functions are connected with transitivity system, mood system and theme system respectively. There are two purposes to analyze works from the perspective functional stylistics: one is to understand the meaning of the article expressed through description and analysis; the second one is to show the main idea of the articles’ meaning and significance by interpreting and evaluating. The Cop and the Anthem is a tragicomedy. It shows the social phenomenon of the tolerance of police on crime and punishment of innocent actions. The paper analyzes The Cop and the Anthem from the perspective of systematic function. Through the introduction of the concept, significance and application of functional stylistics, the paper analyzes the characters’ status from the context. It shows hero's psychological development and all kinds of social relations through ideational, the transitivity system, the mood and modality and theme system. We could better understand meanings and styles of the novel.

摘要
系统功能语法主要有三大基本功能：概念功能、交际功能和语篇功能。这三大基本功能分别与及物性系统、语气系统和主位系统相关系。用功能文体学略论著作有两个目的：一是通过描述、略论文章句子中的三个功能来理解语篇是如何表达清楚文章的意义；二是通过解释评价语篇说明文章的主旨意义和深刻内涵。《警察与赞美诗》是一部悲喜剧，英语论文题目，展现了警察对犯罪行为的“容忍”和对无辜行为的惩罚这一社会现象。本论文从系统功能角度略论《警察与赞美诗》。通过介绍功能文体学的概论和意义及运用，英语论文题目，应用语境及语篇略论小说的文体特点和人物状态发展，从经验功能的及物性系统、人际功能的语气和情态、语篇功能的主位结构三方面揭示主人公的心理发展,变化及各种社会联系,从而深刻理解著作的深层含义和文体特点。
