摘要
欧•亨利作为世界三大小说家之一,以其著作奇巧的艺术构思、出其不意的结尾而闻名。对人性理想的执著追求是其文学创作的主题。小说《双料骗子》和其它小说一样，以出乎意料的结局而结束故事，引发读者无限的回味和发思。反转结局虽然是一种小说创作的艺术手法，英语论文范文，英语论文题目，其特殊的应用却隐含了著作的主题意义。出其不意的故事结尾表达了人性某个方面的本质特征，人性本质是向善的,通过积极因素的作用,“罪恶”之人也能转化为一个善良的、有道德的人。

Abstract
O. Henry, as one of the three most famous short-story writers in the world, is famous for his exquisite plot and twist ending in his stories. The story A Double-dyed Deceiver, like most other stories of O. Henry, provokes lots of reflections from the reader. Twist ending itself is just an artistic technique, but its application implies the theme that the author is intended in the course of writing. Actually, the unexpected ending indicates the nature of human being in a certain sense. Human beings are essentially good, and in a positive living context, even a “vicious” man like Llano Kid could be converted into a kind person with good morality.

1. Introduction
O. Henry, originally named William Sydney Porter, is one of the most important American storywriters. In his whole life, he wrote more than 300 short works. His stories are of wide rang characters, among them, the majority are the normal people in the city. Because of the ending, his stories always make the readers surprise. His twist endings are always contrary to readers' expectations. Although the ending of his stories' are always surprising, the backgrounds of those stories are based on the true life. In his stories, he creates a typically American democratic form which America looks like.The majority people in his works are lower class in society, just like clerks, policemen, and waitresses. All his stories show a true panorama of American life or as someone said, "The encyclopedia of American life".
