摘要
澳大利亚著名作家考琳•麦考洛的长篇小说《荆棘鸟》和美国女作家玛格丽特•米切尔唯一的著作《飘》自问世以来深受读者喜爱。《荆棘鸟》被誉为澳大利亚的《飘》。然而极少有人探索《荆棘鸟》和《飘》这两部经典之作内在的相似性。本文以语料库语言学理论为框架,使用AntConc检索软件中的concordance, concordancer, file view, clusters, collocates, word list, keyword list等功能对《荆棘鸟》和《飘》中语言形式进行量化调查从而略论出作者的写作特点。

Abstract
The Thorn Birds is written by Australian author Colleen McCullough. The Thorn Birds is still popular and followed by many readers and varies from country to country since 1977. Gone with the Wind is written by American author Margaret Mitchell. The Gone with the Wind is the author’s only work. It is the best-selling not only in the US but all around the world. The Thorn Birds is called Australian Gone with the Wind. While few scholars research internal similarity which between The Thorn Birds and Gone with the Wind. This paper will take Corpus Linguistics as theoretical frame and use the concordance, concordancer, file view, clusters, collocates, word list, keyword of the Antconc to quantitative study the linguistics form between The Thorn Birds and Gone with the Wind. This study aims at analyzing the writing style of this two classic works.

1. Introduction
1.1 The introduction of The Thorn Birds and Gone with the Wind
Colleen McCullough is versatile contemporary Australia woman writer. Her famous family saga The Thorn Birds caused tremendous sensation after publication in 1977. After that, many producers use this novel as the raw material to make television mini-series and films. This novel follows the lives, love and deaths of one family--three generations of the Clearys, vividly depicts a sentimental love between Meggie, the female character and Ralph, a Cardinal afterwards. The story starts with Meggie and her family living in New Zealand in the early twentieth century. Her father is Paddy, an Irish farm laborer, and her mother Fee. Meggie has many older brothers. Paddy is poor, but his sister --Mary Carson is rich. “The Clearys who leave New Zealand to live on an enormous Australian sheep station called Drogheda, where their triumphs and tragedies are interwoven with the wonder and terror of a land ravaged by cycles of drought, fire and torrential flood. But most of all, it is the story of Meggie who falls madly love with a man she can never marry, and of Ralph, a truly beautiful man, whose ambitions takes him from outback parish priest to the inner circles of the Vatican --- but whose love for Meggie Cleary will lead to a passion he cannot control.”
