利用语块进行高职英语交际能力教学
受到国内外语言学家与教学专家语块探讨成果的启发,作者进行了本次实验探讨,英语论文,英语论文,意图发现利用语块进行教学是否能增强学生的英语交际能力并尝试探究有效的教学策略。 Chapter One Introduction 1.1 Research Background The Vocational College English Curriculum Requirements issued by Ministry of Education(Trial Implementation,2017)has put a great emphasis on the cultivation of students’communicative competence(hereafter CC)and on the training of the students’both oral and written capacities for the use of the language in future career-related practices.But the fact is that it is quite difficult for vocational students to develop their English CC due to ineffective learning skills and strategies. Although the students have studied English for at least seven years,their English level is generally low and their English CC is far from enough to meet the requirements and challenges in college.A great number of teachers have been worrying about the difficulty and trouble in teaching vocational college students English because their students are lacking of interest and enthusiasm to study English and a lot of students have been greatly discouraged in learning it mainly because they couldn’t get pleasure and satisfying marks in earlier English learning processes.So it is an urgent but difficult task to improve vocational students’English CC. Traditionally in English classes spelling,intonation and grammatical rules are put in the first place because people believe that without certain vocabulary and some basic knowledge about grammar there’s nothing to be conveyed in communication activities.But the result is that students are just imitating and memorizing mechanically with little real output.For example the students cannot organize the language to express their thoughts and feelings in a short time not to mention make effective communication.And too many exercises on grammar have intimidated the students and deprived them of the patience of learning English.Moreover,Chinglish or self-made utterances frequently occurred.Lots of students can not express their ideas clearly and communicate with others satisfactorily.The traditional approaches cannot satisfyingly store information in the students’brain therefore make practical communication hard to reach.Thus to find an effective and proper teaching strategies to teach vocational college students English and cultivate their English CC has become extremely necessary. With the development of corpus study and vocabulary teaching,the theories of the Lexical Approach have been greatly noticed.More and more researchers have emphasized the application of lexical chunks in ESL teaching.Lexical chunks refer to those sentence units which frequently occur in language use with fixed meanings and fixed,semi-fixed grammatical forms.Many research findings have shown that native speakers can produce complicated and long sentences because they have stored big sums of lexical chunks rather than isolated words in their brain capacity.A lot of researchers have already found about the obvious strengths of lexical chunks shown in language communication.So the author realizes that taking lexical chunk teaching into classroom practices needs to be encouraged and experimented especially in the field of students’English CC cultivation.
