【摘要】许多非英语系大学生缺乏跨文化交际意识, 未具备相关目标语文化图式, 难以理解一些选自美国原文的课文。作者在此结合
Saving Nature, but only for Man 一文略论中美价值观的主要异同, 说明文化异同尤其是价值观异同对阅读理解的作用, 从而凸显在大学英语教学中进行文化导入对构建目标语文化图式重要性。

【Abstract】As a result of lack of consciousness about intercultural communication and cultural schema, many non- English majors have difficulty
in understanding the original texts of essays written by Americans. In this article, the author tries to analyze the main difference between Sino-
American value systems with a text Saving Nature, but only for Man ,demonstrating the influence of cultural difference ,especially the difference
between Chinese and American value systems on reading comprehension. In this way, the introduction of culture of target language in college English
teaching plays an important role in the construction of cultural schema.
