一、教学内容的略论
    1.教材的地位和影响
    该阅读课Advertisements所在单元的话题是Advertising,该阅读课处于单元的第二课时。第一课时是Welcome to the unit,其功能是激活学生与单元话题有关的已有知识,为阅读课的学习做热身准备。阅读课Advertisements主要目的是帮助学生学习有关广告的知识,作为对学生已有广告知识的一个补充和拓展,为后续的Task和Project的活动做铺垫;并形成良好的阅读策略,英语毕业论文,让学生更好地了解文章的语言特色、行文风格和文体。
    就广告本身来讲,这个话题学生并不陌生,但由于太熟悉而从未深层次地去思考过。通过学习这篇文章学生对广告能有比较理性的认识,能对广告的思维模式认识更加全面。
    2.教学重点和难点
    Advertisements是一篇说明文,条理清晰,语言不难,再加上学生对“广告”这个话题比较熟悉,因此在阅读大意上不存在太大的障碍,可能会对广告的语言没有关注,在更深层次地理解广告对人们生活的作用上不够全面,再加上这篇文章关于商业广告只提及了其Tricks,有误导学生的嫌疑,而且篇章的结构也欠科学,因此本节课的重、难点确定为:
    (1)重点:欣赏广告的语言和全面地思考商业广告对人们生活的作用;
    (2)难点:对文章的结构和内容提出质疑。
    二、教学目标的确定
    (1)知识与技能:能读懂课文,获取有关广告的一些基本信息;并在获取信息的基础上培养学生发散性思维、批判性思维。
    (2)过程与措施:通过一则有趣的广告视频引入话题,让学生带着问题去阅读文本,了解文章的内容;然后以文本为基础,通过问题串的形式来引发学生的思考。
    (3)情感态度价值观:培养学生理性、全面的思维,并能有质疑和批判精神。
    三、教学措施的选择
    由于阅读课其实是学生在获取文本信息后进行思维碰撞的板块的课,所以要鼓励学生勇敢地用英文表达观点,但由于中国学生在英语的习得过程中有一个客观存在的现象:思维的发展超过了语言的发展,因此本节阅读课主要采取小组合作讨论的措施,让每个人都参与进来。由于先在小组讨论过,学生心里会比较有底气和勇气站出来当众用英文表达观点。教师只是通过问题的引导来一步一步地启发学生,走向最后的教学目标。
    四、教学过程的设计
    本节课的总体流程为:Guide-in—Task-based reading for basic information—Reading for thinking—Post-reading task.[课例呈现]
    Step 1:Warm-up
    T: Morning you guys. Morning the honorable teachers and distinguished judges. I am the last one, but that is not important. What's important is that after me you will be set free. Last night I was sleepless because I am the last one. I need something fun to refresh myself. Let's watch a interesting video to get some re-freshment.(利用多媒体播放一则对于佳洁士牙膏的广告)
    T: What is it for?
    S: It is for selling a toothpaste.
    T: Yeah, it is advertising Crest.(在黑板上板书
    Advertise)It is an advertisement.(在黑板上加后缀ment,并领读该词)roday we are going to learn something about advertisements.
    (意图:以一则很有创意的佳洁士牙膏的广告,一来轻松一下气氛,二来很自然地引入今天要讲的话题。)
    Step 2:Reading for basic information
    T: Would you please turn to page 2 and just read the three subtitles and guess what the writing genre of the article is? A. narrative(记叙文)B. novel(小说)C. expository(说明文)D. essay(散文)(很显然用排除法,学生会选出C)
    Expository writing is meant to introduce basic information on a topic. And it is expected to be orderly and neutral. The topic of this passage is quite obvious. Let's read to get the basic information about advertisements. And three questions for you to think about while reading.
    (1)What are the two main types of advertisements?
    (2)What does the "advertisement" in the second subtitle refer to?
    (3)Why should we follow the advice in PSAs?
    (第一个问题回答完后在黑板上板书Commercial advertisements,PSAs;在第二个问题回答完后建议学生把文本中的第二个小标题改为:Does a commercial advertisement tell people the complete truth?并告诉学生原标题不够具体。如果在学生的阅读中发现他们爱唇读、指读,帮他们指出这个不好的习惯,告知这会作用他们的阅读速度,要用眼和脑去读)
    (意图:通过Task-based reading,英语论文范文,给学生一个整体的时间去整体地阅读文章,不被任何步骤打断,让学生对文章有个初步的了解,并且对文本的小标题有个小修改,为后面对整个文章的质疑做个伏笔。)
    Step 3:Reading for thinking
    T: Let's go deeper into the passage. Please focus on part one "What is an advertisement?" and answer two questions:
    (1)What is any other problem in Line 12? Can you give some examples?(开放性问题,让学生小组讨论)
    (2)What are the major differences between commercial advertisements and PSAs?(学生答完后在黑板上板书出free,educate people;paid, sell products and services)
    T: Let's see a motto of a commercial advertisement. And guess what does it sell?
    (PPT打出“Bright—teeth fights bad breath.”)
    Ss: Toothpaste.
    T: Why doesn't the advertisement use “cure” to replace“fight”?
