范文:“Are Nations Ever Justified in Going to War”。这篇文章作者主要对十九和第二十世纪的国家与其他国家进行阐述战争的各种原因,英语论文,通过奥地利弗兰西斯大公爵费迪南遇刺以及美国911事件的事例,略论了战争起源的政治和经济原因。

During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries nations waged wars with other nations for a variety of reasons. Some people believed that their nation was justified in going to war in order to pursue national interests. Others believed that war is only justified if it is fought in order to preserve national security. Yet other people were opposed to ever using war as the solution to international problems. The immediate cause of the war between Austria - Hungary and Serbia was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914, at Sarajevo in Bosnia. The First World War had many causes; the historians probably have not, yet discovered and discussed all of them so there might be more causes than what we know now. The spark of the Great War was the assassination of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, and his wife by a Serbian nationalist on the morning of June 28, 1914, while traveling in a motorcade through Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Archduke was chosen as a target because Serbians feared that after his ascension to the throne, he would continue the persecution of Serbs living within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The September 11 crisis between the United States of America and Afghanistan went through quite fast; some people believed that the U.S was not justified in going to war with Afghanistan and others though the opposite. The Serbian terrorist organization, the Black Hand, had trained a small group of teenage operatives to infiltrate Bosnia and carry out the assassination of the Archduke. It is unclear how officially active the Serbian government was in the plot.

However, it was uncovered years later that the leader of the Black Hand was also the head of Serbian military intelligence. In order to understand the complexity of the causes of the war, it is very helpful to know what was the opinion of the contemporaries about the causes of the Great War. In the reprint of the article "What Started the War", from August 17, 1915 issue of The Clock magazine published on the Internet the author writes: "It is thought that this war that is been ongoing for over a year, began with the assassination of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand. However, many other reasons led to this war, some occurring as far back the late 1800's. Nationalism, militarism, imperialism, and the system of alliances were four main factors that pressed the great powers towards this explosive war." Austria-Hungary’s form of justification in going to war was the killing of their royal heir, Ferdinand. By the assassination of him Austria-Hungary had every right to go to war, or at least attack. The assassination was the catalyst that brought together all the forces building towards a general war. When Franz Joseph declared an ultimatum to Serbia, it demanded the Serbs to put an end to all anti-Austro-Hungarian activity but of course Serbia accepted expect for the last part of the ultimatum about the investigation about the assassination, Autria-hungary knew they did it and declared war on the Serbs. People do believe that war is wrong and is not justified but when you at all the outcomes of every war it turns out it is for the best. Wars between nations are caused by the responses of people (leaders) to the perceived goals and actions of other people (leaders) according to Maurice Walsh (simple motives). Man will fight for the security of his body, home, food, and territory. For example the league of nations one of the numerous outcomes of world war l help set a path for peace in latter times, and soon create new councils such as NATO, and the UN. Several treaties are signed due to wars that help unite a better world to create peace through out the earth. September 11, 2017 will go down in history as a day of infamy.

However, this American tragedy will have far-reaching global effects, economically and politically. It will also reshape present alliances. The terrorists who succeeded in destroying the World Trade Centers and damaging the Pentagon while taking thousands of innocent lives along with them, appear to have also succeeded in what may have been their ultimate target: damaging the American psyche. Last week Americans stopped jumping on to airplanes as they had in the past. As a direct result the hotel business, vacations spots, and restaurants suffered. A number of shows filed to close on Broadway. Wall Street traders struggled with the loss of thousands of colleagues as they watched the markets plunge decisively downward. At the epicenter of the initial strikes, New Yorkers found themselves at the forefront of the powerful emotional aftershock that followed. Some people believe that the United States had no right going to war against the Afghanistan people and others believe not. Every war can be justified. In this case it was a matter of time for the justification to setup. In this particular case the symbol that the United States of America has justification in going to war was the so-called video of Oslama Bin Laden.
