However, I never had the chance to fully develop this interest until my last years of high school and whilst currently studying A Level Psychology. I am specifically interested in social psychology, clinical psychology and plan to better grasp the interrelationship among clinical disorders in the influences or causes of these disorders. I am also planning to do some work experience at the Abu Dhabi New Psychiatry Hospital next month to get a more in depth practical experience. Another great passion of mine is French. Though, I have studied the French language on and off since the age of six, I have yet to tire of the subject. As I have branched out to reading and watching books, and film. Although English is my first language, I am also fluent in Arabic, Somali and can speak French conversationally. I am an avid eclectic reader and on average read about two novels a week. Thankfully, I\'ve had the chance over the past few years to cultivate interests and skills. One of the most important of these has been community service. As a volunteer and organiser of my school\'s various charity bazaars, food, books, and clothing runs, as well as school competitions to raise money for the needy as a large population of Somalia are not very prosperous. With friends I set up a tutoring programme for areas that don\'t have access to regular schooling or teachers. I still send clothes and books to Somalia from the UAE. I\'ve furthered my academic interests by studying A Levels in Psychology, Biology and French, when I moved to the UAE. I have had the opportunity to also develop my altruistic interests. I am a member of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Volunteering Group, which organizes weekly visits to physically and mentally handicapped in-patients at the Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Centre as well as tutoring children on my own. Last summer I worked at the Rehabilitation Centre in the Speech Therapy Department, as a student trainee and translator between therapist and patient. The experience proved to be successful and productive. As well as using my interpersonal skills and communication skills to the full, it has enabled me to see more empirical aspects of psychology that exist within speech language therapy. A one day e-commerce course has enabled me to construct a website from scratch as well as confronting my fear of online shopping. I was also a volunteer for the recent UK Education Fair, greeting people as they came in and answering any questions they had, as well as translating for the large number who were Arabic speaking. It was a great chance to ask all the reps about studying and life in the UK. Another more recent interest of mine is the fascinating realm of politics and international relations. How could I resist being fascinated when I have spent so many years living in and visiting different countries, witnessing first hand the ways in which countries differ socially, culturally, and politically. When I incessantly read about international affairs and liked nothing better than debating politics over dinner. Because of my wide range of interests I have not yet decided what career path to follow in the future. At present, I am putting most of my effort into achieving the best grades in my A Levels to allow me to reach the next target of my education.
