As is known to us, France, under a relatively liberal immigration policy, is a country with a rather long history of immigration and almost the highest proportion of immigrants of western countries that openly and widely welcomes immigrants from other countries rather than extremely exclude or reject those immigrants as some other countries in the world. It is the increased demand for labor and the pressure from population decline that to a large extent has long been the major attraction for those foreign immigrants to come to settle in France.
Detailed speaking, the immigrants in France are mainly made up by such a great majority of black people from Arabian and African countries that an opinion that France may not have a sense of national pride as it is almost black immigrants there. Those immigrants as well come from countries like America, Belarus, Belgium, Chile, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, etc. Owing to the mergence of those immigrants, France has currently been a well-known country with a strong religious color including Catholicism, Protestantantism, Orthodox Christianity, Islam and Muslim, Catholicism being its state religion.
However, later with the suffering from high unemployment, poverty, social discrimination, less educational opportunity by those immigrants, a new conflict for France accordingly arose that is just the reason why there are countless disputes in France. The nature of this specific conflict lies in the divisions in the religion and ethnicity in France among those immigrants as each and every one of the immigrants all eager to strive for the unique and optimal position both for their own religion and ethnicity, the above two being definitely the two key things that I have learned about immigration as a source of conflict in contemporary France.
