INTRODUCTION
Persians War is one of the most famous wars in the ancient, which is known for the minority overtaking the majority and thus is said to be a military miracle as well. Many historians believe that the Persians nearly occupied all the advantages in the Persian Wars, but they failed at last. There are many kinds of reasons for this result. Also, studies on the Persians War have been diversified by many critics ever since. This tries to analyze the war and give a clear illustration to readers about the two parties’ situation at that time.

THE PERSIAN ADVANTAGES
The Persian had almost all the advantages whether economically or militarily or even politically. At that time when the Persian War took place, the Darius I the Great established an empire and reached the period of great prosperity, His had a vast territory of approximately seven million kilometers and a large population of 18 million, which is the first big empire stretching over Asian, African and European continent in the world. During the rule of Darius I the Great, the character was unified and strengthened the communication of culture. Under the rule of Darius I the Great, he tried to make reformation on politics and laws and gave a new life to them ().
Politically, he established autocratic monarchy and controlled all the supreme rights to consolidate the empire’ s rule. Meanwhile, Darius I the Great adjusted the relationships between Persia and the conquered countries by the means of utilizing and tolerating the local original laws and religion. As for the economy, he strengthened the trade and developed slave-owning economy. He carried out many good policies to develop economy successfully. Militarily, he founded a strong army with millions of soldiers. He asserted to expand continually, which trained a good troop. All in all, the Persian Empire was the largest country with numerous resources in the world at that time.

THE GREEK ADVANTAGES
Persia, as the biggest empire at that time, could defeat Greece without doubt, yet failed and went to the declination and end unavoidably. Greece won the Persian War miraculously with many kinds of reasons. But the Greek victory would rather to be considered as a luck thing rather than to say Greece had its own advantages. The tried to analyze the advantages from three perspectives of military strategy, politics and soldiers’ mentality.

THE ADVANTAGE OF MILITARY STRATEGY
In the Persian War, the Greeks could always got victories miraculously though the Persians had the overcoming advantage of military power but met continual failures. One of the important reasons was the difference of the two parties’ military strategy (). For example, in the Marathon War of BC 490, Darius I the Great led 100 thousand troops to attack Athens, while Athens only had 10 thousand soldiers. Under the large gap of military power, the Athenians did not shrink at all. Instead, they took the strategy of luring the enemy in deep by reducing medium power of the phalanx and strengthening the powers of both sides. When the Persian soldiers were lured in the deep Marathon Plain, they were surrounded and lost their flexible advantage, which meant that they were defeated at last. The Marathon War was ended with the result of the Athenians killing 6400 Persian soldiers at the cost of 192 deaths. During the Persian War, the Greeks were good at utilizing right military strategies whether in the Marathon War, at the Battle of Thermopylae or at the Battle of Salamis.

THE ADVANTAGE OF WAR MENTALITY
In the whole Persian War, the Greeks can be said they had the right reason as they were forced to take part in the war to protect their own home. Therefore, in order to protect their home, the Greek soldiers could have high passions and take the death calmly (). Instead, as for the Persian soldiers, they lacked right reason to arouse the war. What was worse, the Persian troops were composed of those soldiers who came from the conquered countries and had no deep feelings towards Persia or even were forced to join in the war. The complex army, therefore, had no strong and powerful fighting capacity in the war. The Persian soldiers were always in the lack of passion and interests. Besides, the Persian leaders were too confident and proud to fight against the Greeks. No passion and no calm head resulted in the failure for the Persians.

THE ADVANTAGE OF POLITICS
The Greek city-states were full of democratic atmospheres, which could be seen in the aspects that the adult male people enjoyed the political rights and freedom, who were the main force of the war. The Persian Empire carried out the autocratic monarchy instead, where people suffered heavy oppression. Therefore, the Greek people fought for their own rights and freedom in the Persian War, while the Persian soldiers were just like machine of killer to fight for consolidation of the empire and did not care about the victory at all. Meanwhile, the Greeks were democratic as well when making decisions (). They discussed together and made reasonable decisions in the end, which contributed to their final victory to a large extent.

THE KEY FACTOR MAKING THE DIFFERENCE IN THIS CONTEST
The Greeks winning the Persian War was actually the victory of democracy towards the autocratic monarchy. Although there were a lot of city-states in Greece and they were scattered, they all had the democratic colors on the whole. It was the democracy that gave the Greeks rights and freedom, which made them tried to fight for Greece and win the war at last.

CONCLUSION
The Persian War was ended with the failure of the Persian and the victory of the Greeks, which gave the Greeks a chance to develop themselves. The war indicated the past of the splendid Persian Empire and the new start of the Greek era. The Greeks acquired new opportunity, especially the Athenians who became the supreme leadership for a long time in Greece, and developed democracy. Meanwhile, the ancient western civilization started a new page after the Persian War, especially after the Marathon War.
