Popular culture in South Korea is receiving attention around the globe through 'Hanryu(Korean Wave),' which is represented by K-Pop, K-Beauty, etc. Especially, the contemporary art in Korea is approaching closer to the masses through diverse approaches unlike the traditional art that is difficult to be approached. In this way, Korea's contemporary art is recently receiving a lot of attention from the world. Korean artists in contemporary art are notifying Korea's modern art to the world while exhibiting with being invited to overseas famous art museums such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Versailles, the Smithsonian museum, and being awarded a prize by USCO and the Times of the United States. Also, they are naturally showing contemporary art to the public with participating in a planned exhibition of famous fashion brand. In particular, Seo Do-ho, who is a modern artist, became an artist who is paid attention globally while recording the largest viewers following the opening of Leeum at the private exhibition called ‘Seo Do-ho: Home within home’ for the year in 2012, and receiving ‘Prize of Innovator for This Year’ from <The Wall Street Journal> in 2013. Seo Do-ho expresses his memory with a work and communicates with viewers through a work with reviving own memory. As a memory is a subjective thought in the main agent of remembering, it is influenced depending on society, environment and emotion. A memory in art becomes an artist's inspiration, thereby being ever expressed in a work. This also leads to being made an interaction with viewers. The purpose of this study is to examine about a memory that artists get inspiration, and to create an originative and artistic design in line with a trend especially by applying a work that Seo Do-ho expressed a memory. Moreover, this study has a significance in having become a foothold available for easily getting access to the masses through designing with applying Seo Do-ho's work, and simultaneously in having attempted to sublimate it in art through a fashion work, which corresponds to contemporary art. A method of this study was made an analysis by having reference as documentary materials at home and abroad, previous-research theses materials, fashion-related magazine, exhibition picture inventory, interview video, and internet data in relation to Seo Do-ho and memory. To analyze a fashion design, it was utilized fashion designers' works in the overseas collection, the works of having presented to the business entities, and artists' works. A fashion design work was made by applying Seo Do-ho's work based on a characteristic that was shown in a case analysis. This study was developed with the following contents. Chapter 1 was discussed about research objective & significance, research contents & method. Chapter Ⅱ was figured out a concept and a theory on a memory through a documentary survey on memory and Seo Do-ho. Seo Do-ho's work was analyzed through a characteristic of a memory by dividing a characteristic of a memory into habitual memory, cultural memory, and psychological memory after arranging and analyzing the theories by Sigmund Freud, Henri-Louis Bergson, Emile Durkheim, Maurice Halbwachs, and Aleida Assmann. Chapter Ⅲ was looked for modern fashion designers who express with receiving the inspiration of a design based only on own memory, and was analyzed a case by dividing it into habitual memory, cultural memory, and psychological memory. Chapter Ⅳ was produced 6 pieces of the originative and artistic fashion by applying Seo Do-ho's work with the expression of a memory to a fashion design. A work was made with 2 pieces for habitual memory, 2 pieces for cultural memory, and 2 pieces for psychological memory. In the conclusion of Chapter Ⅴ, it suggested the direction of research and development in the originative and artistic design, which analyzed and applied Seo Do-ho's work of having expressed a characteristic and a memory that were arranged on the basis of a theory of a memory. The following are the characteristics of a memory, which were shown in Seo Do-ho's work of having been examined in the above process. Above all, a memory has a dictionary definition dubbed 'keeping or thinking again of previous impression or experience in the consciousness.' It arranged the theories by Henri-Louis Bergson, Emile Durkheim, Maurice Halbwachs, and Aleida Assmann who are theorists on a memory, and then elicited 3 kinds of habitual memory, cultural memory, and psychological memory as the characteristics of a memory, thereby having analyzed Seo Do-ho's work. First, the habitual memory implies the one of realizing unconsciously with being repeated an image or a situation. The more frequent repetition in an image and a situation leads to being clearer in a memory. It is the memory of being associated even if trying not to remember consciously. The habitual memory, which was indicated in Seo Do-ho's work, is 'Hanok(a traditional Korean-style house)' where he had grown from the childhood. As for Seo Do-ho, Hanok is the image that had been seen repetitively from a designing method. It can be seen through 'House Series' as Seo Do-ho's work and was expressed a longing and a memory in his vague childhood by mostly using the wayside. Second, as the cultural memory is like an event, incidence, and history that a group remembers, it implies the objective memory, not the subjective memory, and plays an important role in proceeding with following a culture of community. The cultural memory is also the one on the recorded history, but is the memory on truth, too, which proceeds with being forgotten with being contrary to history. Seo Do-ho's cultural memory is the image on the democratic period in South Korea. Seo Do-ho expressed an oppressed society and own identity through a work and mainly produced it with miniature or sculpture. Third, the psychological memory is what the remembering entity thinks on own emotion together when containing an image. Seeing Freud's theory, it is a context same as 'trauma.' As Seo Do-ho's psychological memory is a cultural collision, which had been suffered during the days of studying abroad, it was expressed chiefly with ‘Forced Landing.’ Seo Do-ho developed the psychological memory with a parachute or a shooting star in a work. It was expressed even with the natural but different works through being met the Eastern architecture and the Western architecture. In this way, 6 works were produced by applying the characteristics of the memories that were shown in Seo Do-ho's work. It was made 2 works applying 'Hanok' that was expressed by Seo Do-ho's habitual memory, 2 works applying 'democratic period' that was expressed with the cultural memory, and 2 works applying 'cultural collision' that was expressed with the psychological memory. It could easily approach the Korean contemporary art while examining about a memory of Seo Do-ho who is an artist of contemporary art, and while analyzing the artist's work. The application of the artist's work could lead to producing a more creative and artistic work. This study is expected to be a foothold that leads to being broadened the understanding about Korean contemporary art, to having attention, and to being able to easily get access of contemporary art to the public. Diverse exchanges between contemporary art and fashion are expected to be made. A continuous follow-up research is anticipated to be carried out on Korea's art field of being noted by the world. ，韩语论文，韩语论文 |
