본 연구는 국내에서 생활하는 외국인들의 태권도 수련 경험을 통해 문화특성과 의미를 체험적 관점에서 문화 기술적 접근방법으로 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 국내에서 생활하는 외국인... 본 연구는 국내에서 생활하는 외국인들의 태권도 수련 경험을 통해 문화특성과 의미를 체험적 관점에서 문화 기술적 접근방법으로 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 국내에서 생활하는 외국인들이 태권도 수련 경험을 하면서 어떻게 문화 적응을 하며, 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지 중점을 두고 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구를 위해 서대문구에 위치한 G도장에서 수업하는 태권도수업을 기초 구성요인으로 하였다. 대부분 1년 이상 태권도를 수련한 사람들로 유단자와 초보자 관계없이 종합수업으로 진행되었으며 연구 참여자는 국내에 1년 이상 거주하고 있는 외국인 수련생들 5명으로 선정 하였다. 연구방법은 심층면담, 참여관찰, 현상학적 기술 등의 다각도 분석법을 실시하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 연구 참여자들의 진술들을 토대로 의미단위별 분류 및 범주화한 결과, 상위개념 4가지와 하위 구성요소 8가지들을 도출할 수 있었다. 외국인 수련생들의 태권도 수련경험의 의미 범주화 한 결과 집약된 구성요소는 “문화적 가치”, “교육적 이해”, “신체, 정신적 경험”, “사회성 발달”로 분류 및 범주화 하였다. 따라서 태권도뿐 만 아니라 외국인이 증가하는 국내에서 생활하고 있는 외국인들의 환경에 적절하고 다양한 프로그램연구의 필요성과 외국인들의 문화적, 교육적, 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 한계점을 극복할 수 있는 다양한 신체활동들이 활성화되어야 할 것이다.

This explored the characteristics and the meanings of cultures in terms of heuristic approaches with foreigners who have learned Taekwondo in Korea. Specifically, the study focused on how the foreigners have been able to adapt into the different culture by learning Taekwondo and how much they have been influenced by the martial art. The research progressed with the basic factor, a Taekwondo class of “G” gymnasium in Seodaemoon-gu, and regardless of their ability from beginners to seniors, most students of the class have played Taekwondo for a year. Among them, five foreign trainees were nominated as participants in the research. They have lived in Korea for more than one year. Research was conducted by methods such as depth interview, participant observation, phenomenological description and triangulation, and as a result, the conclusion derived four factors and eight sub-factors from the participants’ statements which were classified and categorized by meaning units. Factors derived from classification and categorization were “Cultural Value”, “Educational Comprehension”, “Physical and Mental Experience”, “Social Development”. Since foreigners are increasing in Korea, more researches of the appropriate and variety programs are demanding.
