현대에는 생활의 질적 향상, 지역의 개성 등 도시의 이미지가 도시간 경쟁의 주요 관심사로 부각되고 있으며, 같은 도시라 할지라도 그 지역에 따라 다를 수밖에 없는 것처럼 역사문화거리... 현대에는 생활의 질적 향상, 지역의 개성 등 도시의 이미지가 도시간 경쟁의 주요 관심사로 부각되고 있으며, 같은 도시라 할지라도 그 지역에 따라 다를 수밖에 없는 것처럼 역사문화거리는 도시의 또 다른 개성을 만들어 낼 수 있다. 역사문화거리의 조성은 도시의 가로가 그 성격상 도시민의 통과공간으로서의 단순한 의미를 가지고 있지만, 역사문화거리는 역사문화환경의 특수성과 연계된다면 역사의 이해적 측면이나 쾌적한 관광 및 경제적 측면에서도 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 이것은 외국의 역사문화환경 중 가로 의 개념을 중시하여 자국뿐만 아니라 다른 나라에까지 유명한 명소로 사랑 받고 있는 장소나 거리를 통해 알 수 있다. 그 중에 이러한 역사문화거리의 야간 가로 이미지가 중시를 받고 있다. 그러나 역사문화거리의 조성되거나 야간 가로조명 설계 아직도 부족한 점 있고 많은 문제를 안고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 중국 광저우시 근대역사문화거리로써 사미엔(沙面)의 가로경관조명 연출 방향을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 우선 근대 역사문화거리에 대한 기존의 이론과 사례, 특성을 조사하고 가로조명의 정의, 역할, 발전 과정에 대한 분석 종합함으로써 본 논문의 목표 관점을 도출하였다. 도출된 기본 개념 및 정의를 바탕으로 광저우 사미엔 역사문화거리와 대비되는 다른 나라의 역사문화 특징을 담은 역사문화거리의 가로조명 사례를 조사하여 가로경관조명의 특징을 도출하고 연출 요소를 추출하였다. 또한 역사문화거리인 사미엔의 가로 경관조명 연출 방향을 제안하기 위하여 가로경관조명의 특징, 디자인 요소 및 결과를 바탕으로 광저우시 사미엔 거리의 가로 경관조명 연출 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

However currently there are many shortcomings in the night landscape construction of historical and cultural streets and the design of night scene lighting. Therefore the aims of the study is to find the night lighting Show performance direction of Shamian Historical Cultural Street nearby Guangzhou City, China. For this purpose, we could entail the objective of this from investigating the theories and examples of modern historical cultural streets and comprehensive analysis of the definition, concept and development of street lighting. On the basis of the fundamental conception and definition, it will research on and analyze the lighting Show on Guangzhou Shamian Historical Cultural Street comparing to that in other countries. By surveying on these cases we could summarize the performance characteristics and the elements of the street lighting shows.
