This , through the comparison of the Korean and Chinese Choson language, will clarify that the standard Korean and Chinese Choson language vocabulary are not aligned perfectly. This study also proposes a vocabulary education method focused on the difference in the languages to Chosonjok students with the goal of a more fluent communication between Koreans and Chosonjok.
In Chapter1, the purpose of Korean vocabulary education for Chosonjok and previous studies concerning this subject are described.
In Chapter2, the concepts of Korean and Chinese Choson language, and the transition process of the Chinese Choson vocabulary are explained. Also, this chapter portrays the current education of Chinese Choson language and Korean language, and describes vocabulary norms process of Korean and Chinese Choson language.
In Chapter3, the study researches the difference in vocabulary by analyzing various novels, s, s written by Korean-Chinese writers. This chapter searches the definitions through 『Standard Korean Language Dictionary』, 『Choson-eo Dictionary』 and so on and presents the appropriate Korean vocabulary for the particular Chinese Choson word. Also, vocabulary are different with Korean is presented with examples divided into orthography, form, meaning and foreign words.
Chapter4, this study suggests a vocabulary education method to teach different vocabulary between Korean and Chinese Choson language to Korean Chinese students by dividing the method into 5 stages : introduction, suggestion, exercise, practice and conclusion.
Chosonjok students need to be able to use the correct and appropriate Korean language because of their high chance in working for Korean companies or engage in work relating to the Korean language. This applies not only to Chosonjok, but to Korean immigrants in other regions as well. I hope that studies for them will be continue to flourish in the future and wish for the unification of North and South Korea in enabling to help decrease the phenomenon which makes the two regions' culture become more and more foreign to each other.
