Nowdays we are living in a knowledge information society. Such a society is permeated with high tech vocabulary, created and developed using updated information skills. The mass media has become the key factor in creating the bulk of this new information, and in this process the most significant factor is advertising.
However, textbooks give very little attention to the korean grammar utilized in advertising. Compared to other areas of korean language instruction, advertising is covered in small scale. Considering the influence of advertising in modern society, this problem could have significant impact in korean language education. Advertising can not only raise interest in learners, once its characteristices are considered, but the learning effect can be raised compared to traditional instruction that has been used so far in korean language education.
Therefore this study aims to develop the language usage abilities of learners through practical activity plans by bringing advertising language usages into korean grammar education systems.
