김수영(1921∼1968)은 한국 현대시의 전개 과정에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 시인으로서 많은 비평가들의 관심의 대상이 되어왔다. 그는 8. 15해방과 6. 25전쟁의 혼란기인 1950년대와 4. 19, 5. 16의 조국 근대화에 따른 사회 모순들이 충돌하는 1960년대의 한국 문학을 대표할 수 있는 사람이다.
본 연구는 문학이 지닌 본질적 가치들을 규명하기 위해 김수영 시의 언어적 특성들을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 연구의 세부적 연구 절차를 밝히면
1. 김수영 시를 언어학적 방법론으로 하는 문체 분석에 초점을 맞추어 음운적, 형태적, 통사적 특성을 밝히려 한다.
2. 본고는 시를 담화(discourse)의 일종으로 간주하고 시인과 독자 사이, 혹은 작품 내적 청자와 화자 사이의 관계 연구에 중점을 두었다.
3. 김수영 시를 푠현론적 문체 연구 방법에 입각하여 문체를 이루는 문체소(stylisticum)의 특성 살펴 시의 내재적 의미들을 밝히려 한다.
위 연구를 위하여 「김수영 전집 Ⅰ. 시」에 씌여진 전편 (174편)을 텍스트로 삼았다.
김수영 시의 문체 분석을 통한 의미 이해와 구조적 특성에 관한 논의를 살펴 보면
1. 음운적 층위에서는 두운, 모운, 각운을 통한 운을 형성으로 이들은 동어 반복, 동구 반복과 함께 나타나기도 한다. 이러한 반복을 통한 운율 형성은 리듬감과 통일성을 가져다 줌과 동시에 음성 상징(sound symbolism) 효과를 일으켜 의미를 강조한다.
2. 어휘적 층위에서는 도시소재의 어위, 외래어, 시속어, 비어등의 일상적 어휘와 설움, 고독, 분노, 사랑등의 정서적 어휘로 구성되어 있다.
3. 통사적 층위에서는 명령형이나 청유형의 문장 종결법을 많이 사용해 적극적이고 능동적인 메세지 전달 효과를 보았다. 또한 부정어를 중첩 사용해 새로운 의미 창출을 유도했다.
김수영 시의 문체 분석을 개방시켜 담화론적 측면과 수사적 측면을 고찰해 보면,
1. Ⅰ-Ⅰ통화 체계에서는 일상의 삶에서 비롯되는 이상과의 부조화로 인한 설움이나 비애를 독백조로 표출하는 양상을 보였다.
Ⅰ- We 통화 체계에서는 사회의 부조리와 모순을 함께 물리쳐야 할 공동의 적으로 간주하였기 때문에 대화의 방향이 We를 향해 있다.
Ⅰ- You 통화 체계에서는 메세지 전달에 주력하는 대화 양상을 보인다.
Ⅰ- They 통화 체계에서는 그들과의 대화라기 보다 그들의 행동을 통한 의미 전달에 주력하고 있다.
2. 수사적 기교면에서는 인접성(contiguity)과 결합(conbination)의 원리에 기초한 환유 구조(metonymic structure)와, 주제 표출면에서 극적효과를 이룰 수 있는 아이러니가 중요한 기능을 하고 있다.

Kim Soo-Young(1921-1968) as a poet is in a major position in the development of Modem Korean poetry and has been an object which many critics have paid a great attention to. He can represent the Korean literature of the fifties that was the times of confusion with the Liberation(of Korea) and the Korean war, and that of the Sixties which was days of conflicts of Social problems followed by the modernization of the nation.
This study aims to examine the linguistic characteristic of Kim Soo-Young's poems in order to prove the essential Value of literature.
And this study wilt be introduced by the procedures as following:
1. This study aims to reveal Phonological, Morphological, Syntactical characteristics of Kim Soo-Young's poems analysis of styles as linguistic methodology.
2. This , regarding a poem as a discourse, is focusde on surveying of relationships between the poet and readers or between the listener in the poem and the narrator.
3. Also aims to show the inner meaning through examining characteristics of stylisticum with Expressive Style methodology.
For the study above, the whole 「Kim Soo-Young Collection I Poems」was used as text. The discussions on understanding the meaning and structural characteristics through analysis of styles have been examined as following:
1 In Phonological level, Forming, Prosodie through Alliteration, Assonance, Rhyme they appear with Pleonasm, Tautology Such a Prosodie forming brings Rhythme, Consistancy at the same time it brightens the meaning up by the effect of sound symbolism.
2. In Lexical level, they consist of the everyday vocabularies like words of foreign origin and Vulgar words and the emotional words related like sorrow, loneliness, anger, love and so forth.
3. Ways of ending of sentences like imperative forms or persuading forms are frequently used that in Syntactical level positive and active effect of message delivery has been gained.
And by duplicating negative words the new meaning has been brought out.
Considering Kim Soo-Young's writing style in the aspect of discourse and rtetoric,
1. In Ⅰ-Ⅰ communication system, he expresses his sorrow and distress causd by disharmony between his everyday and ideal life in a monologue.
In I-We communication system,as he considers the society's absurdity and corruption as our common enemy, his poetry heads towards the direction of "we".
In I-You communication system, he emphasizes delivering the message.
In I-They communication system, he delivers his meaning by focusing on their behaviors rather than their communication.
2. The metonymic structure based on the principle of contiguity and combinstio and irony which forms a dramatic effect in revealing the themes are taking an important role in the aspects of rhetoric skills.
