The purpose of the study is to have an insight on the honorifics processing, a unique linguistic form of Korean language, which occurs among the normal young and the elderly group, through the ERP experiment. A total of 44 participants (Young=23, Elderly=21) take part in the study. Mean age of young group was 27.26(SD=3.89), and that of elderly group was 67.10(SD=3.78). Experimental sentences were made of 3 syntactic words, 'appellation / object / predicate'. According to the high/low social status exhibited in the appellation and each of its consistency with predicate final endings two sentences are formed, and a total of 4 experimental conditions were set up. (Sentences consisting of relatively high social status with status-inconsistent predicate final ending, Sentences consisting of relatively high social status with status-consistent predicate final ending, Sentences consisting of relatively low social status with status-inconsistent predicate final ending, Sentences consisting of relatively low social status with status-consistent predicate final ending.) 20 experimental sentences were made for each condition, and with the additional 60 filler sentences there were a total of 140 sentences for question. The last verbal word of the presented sentence was the critical word. The electroencephalography (EEG) was recorded from 32 channels following the international 10-20 system, and mean amplitude was analyzed. The behavioral results showed that the average positive response rate and the response time of the young group were much higher and faster, respectively, than that of the elderly group. Looking at the grand average waveforms obtained through the ERP analysis result in a visual inspection, in the case of the young group the N400 component was observed in the time window of 300~500ms when the relative social status was inconsistent with its predicate final ending due to pragmatic violations and failure of semantic integration during vocabulary processing, and the P600 component was also observed in the time window of 500~800ms due to grammatical abnormality. On the other hand, in the case of the elderly group, the mean amplitude of N400 component was observed to be small compared to the young group and P600 component was not observed at all. That is, compared to the young group, weakening and delay of the sentence process capability during linguistic process occurs from the brain level for the elderly. ,免费韩语论文,韩语论文范文 |
