The purpose of this study is to suggest the education contents of listeners honorific expressions for immigrant youth. Immigrant youth is lack basic knowledge about Korean language. So for non-native speakers they should participate in Korean language education. Because they are included in the term of compulsory education, they also should be made to participate in informal education for native speakers at an institution for Korean Language. in other words, there are two areas of Korean language learners within immigrant youth. Therefore, immigrant youth needs different education contents of listeners honorific expressions, which are offered by non-native speaker students and native speaker students. For this reason, this study has considered both the viewpoints of the Korean education for native speakers and non-native speakers.
In chapter one, the purpose and the necessity of this study are disclosed, preceding studies are examined and configuration of this study are explained. By the examination of the preceding studies, it is discovered that there are no studies about listener honorific expressions for immigrant youth. Therefore, this study is significantly different from preceding studies.
In chapter two, the study is conducted with a focus on immigrant youth. First of all, defining immigrant youth as defined by the Ministry of Education. Then to promote an understanding of the immigrant youth, their characteristics are described separately in three categories (language, psychology and education). Also in this chapter, the KSL educational aims of immigrant youth were set into four. Considering listeners honorific expression aims and contents of KFL education and korean education for native speaker, listeners honorific expressions aims and contents for immigrant youth are set.
In chapter three, the speech level system is set of listener honorific expression, this is an important criteria in the listener honorific expression education and is considered the characteristics of the immigrant youth. in the order that set the speech level system of listener honorific expression, this study is set in the seven things of issues of listener honorific expression. By referring to characteristics of immigrant youth and preceding studies, the views are summarized on this study and set the speech level system of listener honorific expression for immigrant youth. In addition, it proposes the order of presentation of the speech level system of listener honorific expression for immigrant youth.
In chapter four, listener honorific expression education for immigrant youth claimed that it should proceed to step away from a one-time education of entry-level by varying the difficulty of the education content. So in this study, it is suggested the level of listener honorific expression for immigrant youth is altered by three steps. In addition, the aims and education contents are proposed for each step. And specifically, what can be shown that the education content is presented at each step for the educational contents.
In chapter five, it summarizes the overall content of the study. This chapter also points out the deficiencies of this , then propose the need for further research
