본 논문은 스마트폰을 활용하여 외국어로서의 한국어 학습용 어플리케이션(앱)을 개발 및 선정하기 위한 평가 기준을 세우고 그에 맞춰 실제 평가를 해봄으로서 현재의 문제점과 그에 따른 개선 방안을 제시하는 것에 그 목적이 있다.
최근 스마트 기기의 발달과 보편화로 스마트폰 사용자의 증가율이 급속도로 확대되고 있다. 그에 따라 스마트폰 어플리케이션 시장은 그 분야가 확대되어 교육의 분야에까지 확대되었다. 이로 인해 ‘스마트 러닝(smart learning)’이라는 새로운 형태의 학습형태가 대두되고 있으며 각종 언어, 특히 중국어, 영어 등의 외국어 학습용 앱이 다양하고 전문적인 형태로 교재를 대체하고 있다. 이는 비단 여타 외국어만의 현상이 아니며 외국어로서의 한국어 분야에도 새로운 교육의 판도를 열고 있다.
이에 따라 본고에서는 먼저 기존의 교재 평가 기준 연구들을 바탕으로 스마트폰 학습용 교재를 개발 및 선정 시 사용할 수 있는 평가 기준을 세울 것이다. 그리고 외국어로서의 한국어 학습 분야에 있어서 현재 출시된 안드로이드OS 스마트폰을 통한 학습용 앱을 대상으로 그 기준에 따라 평가하고 발견되는 문제점들에 대한 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the current problem and an improvement plan according to it by trying the actual evaluation in line with it after establishing the evaluation criteria for developing and selecting application(App) for learning Korean language as foreign langue by using smart phone.
Owing to the recent development and universalization of smart device, the growth rate in smart-phone users is being rapidly expanded. Accordingly, a smart-phone application market was enlarged its field, thereby having been expanded even into a field of education. Owing to this, a new learning form dubbed ‘smart learning’ is being emerged. APP for learning foreign languages such as many languages, especially as Chinese and English is substituting for a textbook in the diverse and specialized forms. This is not just the phenomenon of other foreign languages, but is opening the spectrum of new education even in a field of Korean language as foreign language.
Accordingly, this study will first establish the evaluation criteria available for being used given developing and selecting a teaching material for the smart-phone learning based on the researches on the evaluation criteria for the existing textbook. And, the aim is to evaluate according to its standard and to suggest an improvement plan for problems that are found, targeting the learning-use APP through Android OS smart phone, which is now launched in a field of learning Korean language as foreign language.
