The purpose of this research is making students to have practical and rich conversational experiences by adopting u-learning in Korean language education. This aims fundamentally for improving communication ability of Korean language learners. Hence, this study have followed mainly three steps below.
First, clarifying the concept of u-learning and its characteristics, and it has also examined e-learning and rn-learning which are similar to u-learning. In addition, this study has examined the educational effect of u-learning as a educational language tool.
Second, the study is actively trying to find practical language learning activities to improve conversation skills in real situation for leaners. Those activities are classified into two different aspects which are functional education and cultural education, and u-learning method was applied into mentioned two categories.
Finally, the study result has been actually applied into real Korean language classroom where the researcher is currently working. The point of this application was using u-learning skills through out the most teaching activities in class and employed u-technology(smartphone etc.) adequately according to learning process.
The result of this study and its application, the research found that the interaction among students was amplified and their communication skills were also improved significantly. Futhermore, this teaching method has induced students to take responsibility of their own study rather than passive in class and listening-centered learning habits, it was especially effective to underachieved students and students who are less active in class.
