The effect that Daycare Center parent interacting activity has on relieving nurturing stress and adaptation of mothers from a multicultural family Hyun mi , Choi Master of Artsin ChildCare and Education Graduate School Seoul Theological University As the number of marriage immigrants immigrating to South Korea are increasing along with the entry of multicultural society, they are facing difficulty with nurturing their children in the Korean society as they are in the state of maladjustment. Because it is especially difficult for the parents of multicultural family to provide proper role to their infants, the actual circumstance is that there is a need for a social support system that can supplement their role. In this research, the aspect of transition in nurturing stress and nurturing efficacy of mothers from a multicultural family through interacting activity with Korean parent was examined and the effect this transition has in adapting to life in South Korea was investigated. Subject of study was composed of 4 Korean mothers and 2 mothers from a multicultural family whose children are currently going to a Daycare Center located in Seo-Gu, Incheon, and 2 mothers of a multicultrual family from a local community with infants and this parent interacting activity happened during 4 terms. Data analysis was classified taking account of correlation between keyword during their interview. The classification included difficulty(stress) in nurturing, transitional aspect in maternal efficacy, transition and adaptability in problem solving ability through relationship change with Korean parents. Moreover, statistical process was done using SPSS Win 14.0 in order to analyse before and after questionnaire. Variance analysis was implemented to investigate difference between nurturing stress according to personal background and nurturing background of mothers from a multicultral family. Through this, before and after change was confirmed. The outcome of this research is as follows. First, it was effective to relieve nurturing stress of a mother from a multicultural family through interacting activity with a Korean mother. Mothers from a multicultral family were experiencing difficulty because they were engaged with difficulty of nurturing as adapting to life in Korea. During this process, sense of closeness was formed and it was a chance to confirm that they are in an equal relationship where they have to cooperate while sympathy was being developed. It could be seen that feeling emotional loneliness and the intimidated looking mothers from a multicultural family needed someone to talk to and the offer of emotional support influenced in relieving their stress. Second, a change in nurturing efficacy through interacting activity with a Korean mother was recognized. A mother from a multicultural family showed improvement in nurturing efficacy as their nurturing stress was relieved. The mothers from a multicultrual society were in a condition of high in affection and interest in their children compare to low in self-confidence as a result of lack of understanding in infant's development, poor Korean speaking ability, and difference in the culture. However, positive nurturing attitude was formed as information was shared with Korean mothers and sympathy developed. Third, relationship between mothers from a multicultural family and Korean mothers transformed into co-operative relationship after having interacting activity with a Korean mother. It was an opportunity for mothers from a multicultural family to switch their perception that Korean mothers would have a prejudice about multiculture, and they were able to understand and admit other culture. Also, mothers from a multicultural family did not have any change to interact with parents from Daycare Center or with their neighbors, but they were able to develop co-operative relationship through this activity. Fourth, parental interacting activity had a positive effect on adaptation of mothers from a multicultrual family. Through interacting activity with Korean mothers, mothers from a multicultural family became more confident on part that they were diffident about during their life in Korea. This can be seen as an assistance in the adaptation of their life in Korea. Beside the educational forming point to simply support multicultural family, paying attention to their voices, feeling sympathy and an opportunity to communicating with them in order to help them adapt to Korean culture became very helpful in their adaptation. As a result, it is recognized that mothers from a multicultural family experienced a positive change in their nurturing as their nurturing stress pressure decreased as they nurture their children and their nurturing confidence increased through this parental interacting activity. Moreover, it is seen that a change in relationship with Korean parents influenced nurturing problem solving ability and adaptation. It is significant that this research shows that there was an influence in nurturing attitude and adaptation as actual parental education program was practiced and there is a need for a practical and continuing research that reflects demand of parents from a multicultural family. ,韩语论文题目,韩语论文 |
