Empathizing is classified into three types: ��cognitive empathy', ��emotional reactivity', ��social skills'. Cognitive empathy refers to people's ability to perceive others' feelings and thinking, emotional reactivity means the capability of people taking appropriate reactions depending on others' emotion. Lastly, the third category is a term for people's behaviour that they have taken after considering how their actions could affect others and their emotion. In early childhood education institutions, the teachers should observe the children's behaviour and needs to understand the children's empathic ability. In order to measure such emphatic ability, teachers should have an assessment scale. This study aims to verify whether the EQ-C(Children's version of the Empathy Quotient) measurement-which is used by adults to measure children’s empathy ability- is appropriate for teachers.
