본고는 한국어 모어 화자들이 고빈도로 표현하는 어휘묶음에 대한 연구이다. 어휘묶음이란, 텍스트에서 빈번하게 나타나는 단어들의 연속체로, Biber(2006: 133)은 정의하고 있다. 2-gram부터 9-... 본고는 한국어 모어 화자들이 고빈도로 표현하는 어휘묶음에 대한 연구이다. 어휘묶음이란, 텍스트에서 빈번하게 나타나는 단어들의 연속체로, Biber(2006: 133)은 정의하고 있다. 2-gram부터 9-gram의 한국어 어휘묶음을 분석하여 구조 유형과 언어자질 유형에 따라 정렬하였는데, 먼저 구조 유형은 명사구 어휘묶음, 동사구 어휘묶음, 관형어구 어휘묶음, 부사어구 어휘묶음으로 4분류 하였고 각각의 대분류 아래 모두 12개의 구조 유형으로 정리하였다. 언어자질 유형은 문장 성분 자질로서 체언, 용언, 관형어, 부사어로 분류할 수 있으며, Biber(2006)의 언어자질에 따라 입장 표현(stance expression), 담화 조직(discourse organizers), 지시 표현(referential expression)으로 분류하였고 각 하위 분류로 22개의 언어자질 유형을 분류하였다. 이를 통해 영어와 한국어 어휘묶음의 유사성과 차이점을 확인할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 한국어 어휘묶음 각각이 가진 구조와 언어자질을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다. Biber(2007: 273)는 화자와 작자가 어휘묶음에 의존한다는 것은 의사소통 목적에 강하게 영향을 받는다고 설명한다. 본고는 단순히 고빈도의 단어 연속체인 어휘묶음을, 구조와 언어자질을 가지고 있는 어휘묶음으로 정리함으로써, 이용이 가능한 어휘묶음 표현 목록을 제시할 수 있었다. 따라서 구조와 언어자질을 모두 가진 어휘묶음을 이용하면, 한국어 직관이 없는 제2언어 학습자가 어휘 학습뿐 아니라 이해 영역과 표현 영역에서 가독성과 유창성을 높일 수 있을 것이다.

According to Biber(2006: 133), Lexical bundles defined simply as the most frequently recurring sequences of words. By analyzing Korean lexical bundles from 2-gram to 9-gram, arranged them into structural type and linguistic feature type. Firstly, structural type is devided into 4 category, noun-phrase, verb-phrase, adnominal-phrase and adverb-phrase, and those each category were grouped 12 sub-categories. Secondly, linguistic feature type is devided into 4 categories, substantive, predicate, adnominal, and adverb word as sentence constituents. On the other hand, stance expression bundles, discourse organizers bundles, and referential expression bundles with reference to Biber(2006: 133-175)'s linguistic features were grouped 22 linguistic features in their each sub-category with Korean lexical bundles. Biber(2007: 273) explained a speaker or writer relies on lexical bundles is strongly influenced by their communicative purposes.
