Loan word education is one of Korean vocabulary education. Along with the globalization of the modern society and cultural communication between different countries, loan word appears in different languages. It is a fact that loan word education is not enough in this modern society which can generate a lot of foreign words in a day. There is an urgent need for loan word education. Because of the difference between Chinese and Korean in loan word labeling, loan words of Korean is almost a new language for Chinese students. This thesis takes Chinese students who are learning intermediate Korean as the object, conducts a research on Korean loan word labeling education and loan word vocabulary Education.
The second chapter is about the theoretical knowledge of Korean loan word definition, borrowing method and labeling and so on. The definition of loan word is summarized form definitions defined by various scholars. Borrowing method is studied from transliteration, translation, mixing translation aspects. By analyzing the borrowing method, we can know that when Korean loan words borrowed from other foreign languages adopted a variety of ways. It also analyzed loan word labeling and listed International Phonetic symbol table. Because many Korean floan words borrowed from English, therefore, Chinese students who had learned English will be easier in the learning of Korean loan words.
Chapter three analyzed 14 school newss of two semesters in 2014. After finding out the foreign words from the news, I made a classification according to the number of frequency. It includes loan words classification, foreign words classification, place name classification, personal name classification, error mark classification and so on. And then made an source language classification, English loan words classification, the classification, the number of frequencies classification, and analyzed loan word error mark and foreign words. Through the analysis we can know that there are a lot of loan words appeared in university newss. Not only the loan word but also a lot of foreign words, Chinese students read these university news is very difficult. After then I analyzed introduction and intermediate teaching materials published by Seoul University. Both intermediate teaching materials and university newss have appeared loan word, I take those loan words which appeared in intermediate teaching materials but not in university newss and which appeared in university newss above 5 times but not appeared in intermediate teaching materials as the object of education.
The fourth chapter puts forward 3 aspects to which need to pay attention in foreign language education and 5 education activities to help students study more effective. In order to let students understand and master the knowledge of loan words quickly, I build an effective educational plan which focus on Korean loan word labeling. Not just for the loan words labeling, but for the loan words which often used in our daily life is also necessary to carry on the education. This thesis also offers vocabulary education guidance for Chinese students who is learning intermediate Korean. Because the English pronunciation of Chinese students is different with Korean students and it will be difficult to communicate with each other, therefore we need to pay attention to the pronunciation of students.
Nowadays, with the wide range use of loan words and in order to help students communicate more effective or better adapt to school life, loan words education is indispensable. Although this thesis takes intermediate level students as the subject, students of advanced stage also need education. This thesis mainly focuses on the education plan of loan word labeling, but I will do a follow-up study on the loan word meaning expansion, narrowing of the meaning and changing of the meaning. I hope this thesis will help the students who are learning intermediate Korean.
