As language is the result of culture and as it reflects culture at the best, integrated education that links language and culture is essential. Accordingly, this study is to present a plan to develop a mid level textbook that uses the Korean culture education item.
In chapter 2, it will look into the linkage of language and culture in the Korean language education and as a education plan that integrates language and culture, it has stated that a plan to link culture education and Korean language education is needed. Also, it has selected a Korean culture education item that is to be reflected in the textbook that would be developed from this study.
In chapter 3, it analyzed the state of the conduct culture items that are reflected in the textbook for the mid level learners and the Korean culture textbook for foreigners and through its result, it provided the limits of the previous textbooks.
In chapter 4, it provided the actual state of the textbook that uses the Korean culture education item. Based on the overall group composition of the textbook and the development principle, it composed the composition of each group for the textbook and a single group of the developed textbook and provided the actuals of a textbook.
In its language study, as a education plan that links language and culture, it is meaningful as it provided the development plan of a Korean textbook using the Korean culture education item. However, as it has limits of not being able to provide a education plan that has the contextual knowledge of Korean culture and the deep knowledge of its contents, it would supplement it through further studies. This will be a boost for the development of various Korean language textbooks and it would provide a direction for the development of a textbook that reflects the needs of the learner.

언어와 문화는 상호불가분리성의 관계성을 갖는다. 언어와 문화는 상호작용을 통하여 시대와 환경에 따라 함께 변화한다. 언어는 문화의 결과물이자 문화를 가장 잘 반영하고 있기 때문에 언어와 문화를 연계한 통합적인 교육은 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 현재 한국어 교육에 있어서 언어와 문화를 연계한 통합한 교재의 개발에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국 문화 교육 항목을 활용한 중급 교재 개발 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
2장에서는 한국어 교육에서의 언어와 문화의 연계에 대해 살펴보고, 언어와 문화를 통합한 교육 방안으로 문화 교육과 한국어 교육을 연계한 방안이 필요함을 밝혔다. 그리고 본 연구에서 개발할 교재에 반영할 한국 문화 교육 항목을 선정하였다.
3장에서는 중급 학습자를 대상으로 한 교재와 외국인을 위한 한국 문화 교재에 반영된 행동 문화 항목의 양상에 대해 분석하였다. 행동 문화의 하위 항목이 기존 교재에 어떠한 분포로 반영되어 있는지 분석하고, 분석 결과를 통해 기존 교재가 가지는 한계점을 밝혔다.
4장에서는 한국 문화 교육 항목을 활용한 교재의 실제를 제시하였다. 먼저 교재의 개발 원리에 대해 논의하고 2장에서 선정한 한국 문화 교육 항목을 반영한 교재의 전체 단원의 구성을 제시하였다. 교재의 전체 단원 구성과 개발 원리를 바탕으로 교재의 각 단원의 구성과 개발한 교재의 한 단원을 구성하여 교재의 실제를 제시하였다.
언어와 문화의 연계를 통한 한국어 교육 방안의 개발과 이를 반영한 교재의 개발이 활성화되고 많은 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 이 연구에서는 언어와 문화를 연계한 교육 방안의 일환으로 한국 문화 교육 항목을 활용한 한국어 교재의 개발 방안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 그러나 한국 문화에 대한 맥락적 지식과 내용에 대한 심도 깊은 지식에 대한 교육 방안을 제시하지 못하였다는 한계점을 향후 지속될 연구를 통해 보완하고자 한다. 이는 다양한 한국어 교재의 개발에 활력소가 되고, 학습자의 요구를 반영한 교재의 개발에 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.
