This study investigates the referring expression [사람] in the song lyrics of K-POP. Since songs contain the histories and stories of [사람], it is natural that expressions of song lyrics are closely related to the stories of people, and thus expressions about people are frequently used. It is also verified in K-POP which is being so popular in the world. At present, K-POP attracts so much popularity over the world, so it is becoming a useful Korean language material that foreigners can access with ease.
In the Introduction, it is explained that K-POP provides many Korean language materials that foreigners can get by easily, contains the stories of many people, and various expressions about [사람] in its lyrics. This study collected the lyrics of Top 20 Songs of the Gaon Chart from Jun. 2013 to Jun. 2014, and analyzed the referring expression [사람] in them. It was reviewed whether the results could be helpful in teaching Korean Language.
In Chapter 2, the concepts and effects of K-POP are introduced. K-POP is being loved by many people including foreigners. It provides efficient language materials that foreigners can obtain without much difficulties. Therefore, K-POP can be interesting language materials for learning Korean Language. The concept of the referring expression [사람] is also explained. [사람] is a personal pronoun used when referring to a previously mentioned person again. Pre-nouns and pre-noun clauses are often used as well. There are also terms of address and reference used when calling or introducing [사람]. The concepts of pronoun, pre-noun, and terms of address and reference are explained, and uses of additional expressions and vocabularies are investigated.
In Chapter 3, the referring expression [사람] in the song lyrics is more thoroughly analyzed. First, the pronouns in the song lyrics are expounded. What pronouns are frequently used under what situations are suggested. Next, we will take a look at the vocabulary of [사람] and get know how did them used in the referring expression [사람]. It is also explained which [사람] are referred to and why they are used. The kinds of the terms of address and reference in the song lyrics are researched, and the reasons for the frequent uses of these words are presented. In addition, the referring expression [사람] in the lyrics and the referring expression [사람] in daily living are compared. The value of teaching the Korean referring expression [사람] only with K-POP is reviewed.
In the Conclusion, the Korean referring expression [사람] in the song lyrics of K-POP is summarized in tables, and the kinds of various expressions are clearly illustrated. Additionally, the differences between the referring expression [사람] in the lyrics of K-POP and the referring expression [사람] in daily living are presented, and the reasons for them are explained in detail. The values of teaching Korean Language with the song lyrics of K-POP are suggested.

1장에서는 연구목적과 연구대상 및 방법에 대하여 논의한다. K-POP은 외국인이 쉽게 접할 수 있는 한국 문화 중 하나이다. K-POP 가사에 나타난 표현은 외국인에게 활용할 수 있는 흥미로운 한국어 자료가 될 수 있으며, K-POP에 나타난 [사람] 지시표현이 한국어 교육에 활용될 수 있는지 살펴본다. 이를 위하여 이 논문에서는 2013년 6월〜2014년 6월까지 가온차트에 TOP 20위에 올라온 노래의 가사를 연구 대상으로 삼는다. 노래 가사 분석 특히 K-POP에 나타난 [사람] 지시표현의 빈도와 유형을 살펴본다.
2장에서는 K-POP의 정의 및 위상과 [사람] 지시표현에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴본다. K-POP은 Korean Pop Music을 뜻하는 용어로서 한국 대중음악을 가리키는 말이다. K-POP은 외국인이 쉽게 접할 수 있는 한국어 학습 자료이며, 흥미로운 학습 자료라고 할 수 있다. 또한 [사람] 지시표현 유형에 대하여 구체적으로 논의한다. [사람] 지시표현은 [사람]을 가리키는 표현이다. [사람]을 가리킬 때 여러 가지 표현을 사용할 수 있다. 인칭대명사와 [사람]이 쓰인 표현이 있고 호칭어·지칭어를 사용하기도 한다. 그리고 별명 등 다양한 [사람] 지시표현이 있다.
