이 연구는 이주노동자의 의사소통능력 향상을 위해 상황 중심 교수요목을 핵심으로 하는 혼합-다층적 교수요목의 구성 방안을 제시하는 것이 목적이다.
이주노동자들이 한국어를 배우는 가장 큰 목적은 의사소통능력 향상에 있다. 하지만 이주노동자들은 한국어 학습 시간이 부족하여 이들의 의사소통능력 향상을 기대하기 어렵다. 따라서 이들을 위한 한국어 교육은 짧은 시간에 효과적으로 의사소통능력의 향상을 이끌어 내야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 이주노동자를 위한 한국어 교육은 상황 중심 교수요목을 바탕으로 진행이 되어야 한다. 상황 중심 교수요목은 대화문을 중심으로 구성이 되는데, 대화문을 중심으로 한 한국어 교육은 적은 시간의 학습을 통해서도 이주노동자의 요구를 반영한 의사소통능력을 향상시켜 줄 수 있기 때문이다. 이 연구는 이를 전제로 상황 중심 교수요목의 구성방안을 제시하였다.
이를 위해서 2장에서는 이주노동자를 위한 한국어 교육에 대해 살펴보았다. 먼저 이주노동자의 현황에 대해 기술하고, 이들을 위한 한국어 교육 양상에 대해 기술하였다. 이를 통해 이주노동자를 위한 한국어 교육의 한계점을 살펴보았다. 그리고 교수요목의 정의와 유형 제시를 통해 이주노동자를 위한 한국어 교육에서 가장 적절한 교수요목으로서 상황 중심 교수요목을 제시하였다. 3장에서는 이주노동자를 위한 한국어 교재를 분석하였다. 분석 대상을 선정하고 분석 기준의 툴을 마련하여 툴에 따라 분석을 진행하였다. 분석은 내적 구성과 대화문을 대상으로 진행하였으며 내적 구성 분석을 통해 각 교재가 바탕으로 하는 교수요목을 확인하였고 대화문 분석을 통해 각 교재의 상황적 요소가 잘 드러나는 지 확인하였다. 4장에서는 2장과 3장의 내용을 바탕으로 상황 중심 교수요목을 바탕으로 하는 교수요목의 설계 방법을 제시하고 이에 따른 상황 목록을 제시하였다. 그 후에 실제 수업 현장에서 활용 가능한 상황 중심 교수요목을 제시하였다. 5장에서는 앞의 내용들을 요약하고 차후 진행되어야 할 논의들을 제안하였다.

The biggest aim that immigrant worker study Korean is to develop their communicative competence. But the most immigrant workers are lack time to study so that it is difficult to improve their communicative competence. That is why they need the Korean education which is very efficient for them and make them improve their language skill in short time. In order to achieve their goal, the Korean education for immigrant workers should be state based syllabus. The state based syllabus is mainly composed up dialogue. Also the syllabus would make them improve their communicative competence in short time. This study represents the state based syllabus based on the situation of immigrant workers.
So in the 2nd chapter, I searched about the Korean education for immigrant workers. First of all, I wrote the present situation about immigrant workers and the Korean education for them and examined the breaking point of their Korean education. Also I represented the state based syllabus as the best syllabus for immigrant workers. In the 3rd chapter, I examined the Korean text book for immigrant workers. First, I chose the subject of analysis and analyze them with analytical framework. I analyzed structures of text book and the dialogues. I checked the each syllabus of books. Also I checked if the dialogue presents the situation or not. In the 4th chapter, I suggested the method to design the syllabus and list of state based syllabus according to 2nd and 3rd chapter. After that I suggested the state based syllabus that can be used in the Korean class. In the 5th chapter, I summarized the contents of this study and suggested the discussion which we would discuss about this study in future.
