From a socialist system, Mongolia was transformed to a market economic system, that is to say a capitalistic society, following 1990. And Mongolia and Korea established diplomatic relations with each other since March 26, 1991. Because of this, the relations between two countries have developed rapidly in each aspect. And nowadays, a lot of countries pay close attention to Korea as the country is increasing its global presence. So a growing number of foreigners are trying to learn Korean, also including Mongolians. In spite of that, there is a little useful research for helping them to learn Korean. And although the pronunciation education is actually very important, many people didn’t pay more attention to the accurate pronunciation. Especially, for those Korean beginners, who are not able to accurately pronounce Korean, they also can not express accurately and fluently even thought they are at the intermediate level or advanced level. This study analyzed Korean Vowel pronunciation and 28 Mongolian learners of Korean at Ulaanbaatar university took part in the research. So we can see, for the elementary level students, they cannot understand the Korean monophthong system. And the differences between the Korean and Mongolian languages affect the learners’s errors in pronunciation. |
