This is focused on improving their vocational training system for the immigrant women to be successfully employed, especially living in Seoul, and the training system and its process are to be analysed/discussed for the immigrant women, which were implemented by educational institutions mainly for immigrant women. In the mid-2000s, 10% of marriages (a slight decrease in 2012 with 9%) account for international marriages between Korean men and foreign women. A large number of female foreign spouses from Asian developing countries though that Korean economy is better than their countries. However, life in general is different from expected. The immigrant women in Korea were disappointed because of financial difficulties and even being divorced. As explained on the 2nd Basic Plan for married Korean men, most of them are getting older or their economic support is on the verge of disappearing. What she's working on is to solve her economic difficulties, to improve her self-esteem and to maintain the marriage so that they are eager to work. In reality, however, these can be very limited to a company or workplace occupations and not professional but menial jobs, comparing with their occupational demand. Recently, even highly skilled women with university education from their home country come to Korea for the marriage immigration. Most of them had white-collar jobs like teachers, accountants, and translator and interpreter service in airports and customs clearance assistants. They have been demanding the same while-colored jobs in Korea but for reasons of cultural alignment issues those kinds of jobs are still quite limited.
Recently the Korean companies have implemented Competency based Human Resources Development (HRD) which could improve the competitiveness in the market. Three are three competencies in this system: ①the basic core competency ②leadership competencies by level ③job knowledge, skills and behavioral competencies are classified and recruitment used to be performed by these three(3) competencies. Therefore, these educational institutions for immigrant women shall implement this Competency based HRD system to delight them, and to finally be successfully recruited. If the institute does not perform this system, the women who took its training programs may not be suitable for the companies.
To this end, the researcher had in-depth interviews with 13 immigrants who were married with Korean men. The seven countries are diverse nationalities, and seven women were divorced with child meanwhile 6 women on condition. Some are in OJT and job internship, some have been researching jobs. All of them had working experience in their home country and in Korea, they also had at least one work experience. They have received some questions on their taken vocational training system, training programs that they have taken. Different difficulties and issues had been summarized from non-cultural alignments at the workplace as well customer-driven effort to make the education system of each country and taking into account the characteristics of women in the country are required to recognize and customized training to these subjects, including her home country and pride for one's country showed the strength of women . Based on such information, the researcher wants to counsel them regarding suitable occupations for each country. I spend a lot of time in this interview especially with the characteristics of the home country and those of the women in the home country, comparing with other countries' women with superior characteristics. This customer-oriented vocational training is critical to the success of the immigrant women to be successfully recruited.
Based on the summary this study : 1) a theoretical proposal 2) practical suggestions, and 3) a policy proposal , were developed on the voice of the front lines where 13 immigrant women worked or are still working.
