Abstract This study was conducted to identify the level of oral health through survey and oral examinations targeting 504 foreign immigrant male workers at 20 years old or higher who used the Daegu labor consultation center for immigrant workers from January 1st 2012 to April 15th 2012. Status of oral health of immigrant workers was as follows: decayed teeth of 76.6%, filling teeth of 27.4%, missing teeth of 69.8%, dental caries experience(DMFT; decay, missing, filling, teeth) with five or more of 60.2%, periodontal pocket tissues of 58.9% and Simplified Oral Hygiene Index of 49.0% were poor. Variables related to caries experience in the permanent teeth such as age, health insurance, frequency of cleaning teeth and area of brushing, which were significant(p<0.05). Community periodontal index of treatment needs included age, educational history, monthly income, health insurance, subjective oral health status, area of brushing, time of brushing, which were significant(p<0.05). Simplified oral hygiene indexes included age, educational history, duration of staying, monthly income, health insurance, current smoking, number of brushing, area of brushing and time of brushing, which were significant(p<0.05). Dental care utilization experience was significantly associated with social relation indexes such as attendance in other family’s events, household stuff help, financial help and discussion of hard work. Dental care utilization experience was significantly associated with literacy such as speaking, listening, writing abilities of Korean(p<0.05). In order to identify factors affecting experience of dental, the logistic regression analysis was conducted. The results showed that variables such as duration of stay in 4–5 years, subjective oral health status, caries experience in the permanent teeth and social relation gave a significant effect. In a multivariate analysis with unmet needs for dental care as the dependent variable, health insurance and subjective health status gave a significant effect(p<0.05). Oral health indices of immigrant workers were relatively poor. Monthly income and health insurance had associated with oral health index and thus they felt burden of medical expenses. In addition, Korean language skills and social relationship are related to the use of dental care. Oral health index affected the use of dental care utilization and health insurance was the variable affecting unmet needs for medical care. It is thought that very comprehensive policy and countermeasures such as improvement on status of oral health, Korean language proficiency and strengthening of social network and reduction of economic burden through coverage in health insurance are needed desperately. ,韩语论文题目,韩语论文 |
