This study seeks to explore the relationships among husband’s gender role conflict, economic status, and marital satisfaction among middle-aged women. The data comes from the survey of 321 middle-aged women living in the city of Seoul and its suburban area. The study s that the wife’s perception of husband’s gender role conflict decreases he r marital satisfaction; that economic status increases marital satisfaction, but its moderating effect on the relationship between husband’s gender role conflict and marital satisfaction fails to reach statistical significance. These findings suggest that high economic status does not mitigate the negative effect of husband’s gender role conflict on marital satisfaction, highlighting the importance of husband’s gender role conflict on marital satisfaction.
