이 논문은 현재 한국에 거주하면서 제2 언어 또는 외국어로서 한국어를 배우는 아동 학습자의 한국어 교육에 활용할 수 있는 교육 자료 개발을 목적으로 한다.
최근 아동 학습자들을 위한 한국어 교육에 관심을 가지면서 아동 학습자를 대상으로 한 한국어 교재가 출간되었다. 그러나 교재에 따른 교육 자료는 그렇게 많지 않아서 시중에 나와 있는 교재만 가지고 수업을 하기에는 어려움이 있다. 이런 이유에서 아동 학습자의 한국어 교육에 도움을 줄 수 있는 교육 자료를 개발하고자 한다.
교육 자료는 크게 동화와 동요 그리고 놀이로 나누어 개발하였으며, 실제로 개발한 자료를 가지고 수업에 활용하는 방법을 제시하였다.
제1장에서는 연구 목적과 연구 방법 그리고 선행 연구에 대하여 살펴보았다.
제2장에서는 아동 학습자의 특징을 알아 보고 재외 동포 아동 학습자를 위해 한국교육과정평가원에서 발행한 『한국어』1～6권의 교재를 분석하였다. 교재 분석은 교재 안의 동화와 동요 그리고 놀이 활동의 비중과 내용을 중점적으로 살폈다.
제3장에서는 교재 분석을 토대로 저학년 아동 학습자를 위한 동화와 동요 그리고 놀이로 나누어 교육 자료를 개발하였다. 동화는 우리나라 전래 동화인 금도끼와 은도끼를 대상으로 하였으며, 동요는 병원 놀이와 종이접기를 대상으로 하였고, 놀이는 크게 전통 놀이인 꼬리잡기와 역할 놀이인 시장 놀이, 그리고 설명 듣고 어휘 맞히기 게임으로 나누어 교육 자료를 개발하였다.
결론에서는 본고에서 개발한 교육 자료의 의의와 그 한계점에 대해 논하였다.

Recently, the children are interested in Korean education for learners gets higher, many Korean textbooks for children have been published. But the educational materials for the textbooks are not so many that. There are problems in carrying out the Korean education only with the textbooks. For this reason, educational materials to help the Korean language education for children learners were developed in this .
The educational materials were developed in three divisions: fairy tales, kid songs and games. Furthermore, the method to apply the developed materials to the actual class was suggested.
In chapter 1, the purpose, the method and the precedents of the research were introduced.
In chapter 2, the characteristics of children learners were investigated and <the Korean Language> vol. 1～6, the textbooks published by KICE(Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation) for overseas Korean children in other countries, were analyzed. In analyzing the textbooks, the proportion and contents of fairy tales, kid songs and games in the textbooks were focused on.
In chapter 3, on the basis of textbook analysis, the educational materials were developed in the areas of fairy tales, kid songs and games for lower-grade learners. The fairy tale in the material was the 'golden ax and silver ax' and the kid songs were 'the hospital game' and 'the folding'. For the educational games, Korean traditional game 'the tale catching' and a role play 'the market game' were developed along with 'the word finding game from explanation'.
In the conclusion, the significance and the limits of educational materials developed in this were discussed.
