The basic areas in communication are speaking and listening. They can't be separated from each other and the separation is inadvisable. However in this study, 'speaking' includes listening and the techniques of listening are not suggested, but the speaking textbook is constructed based on the listening activities.
First of all, I re-sort the subjects, grammar, vocabularies and functional components after analysing the intermediate Korean textbooks. Then I take a look at the relationship between the exercises and other components. Based on this, the textbook consists of subjects, grammar, vocabularies and functional components mutually, so that the exercises in the textbook can be applied to real communications.
The overall system of task activities consists of the instruction, the development section and the conclusion section. The instruction section consists of the names of units, the objects of study, the pictures and questions. The development section consists of the examples of conversation, the grammar, vocabularies, the expressions and task activities. The conclusion section suggests the self-check table to self-examine the grammar and expressions in each unit that learners have studied. I suggest the speaking textbook model focused on task activities for intermediate learners based on the components and the system of the speaking textbooks.
