In ancient novels, meta fiction is one of special arouses attention of the novel situation, a lot of criticism and scholars of meta fiction to stop the system research. The French Lieutenant's woman is critics classified as metafiction and ancient novels, this article from the perspective of metafiction to interpret the French Lieutenant's woman of ancient, also through the interpretation of the detailed process and deepen of metafiction practice and post modernism fundamental features of the familiar. The introduction of this article briefly analyzes the emergence of the experimental novel in the eastern literature, and points out that the French Lieutenant's woman is classified as a post classical novel and a meta novel because of its experimental skills and structure.
